410 Medical, based in Durham, NC, is focused on innovative technology to improve resuscitation of critically ill patients. 410’s lead product, LifeFlow, is designed to enable clinicians to more effectively and efficiently deliver fluids to patients with shock and sepsis in urgent need of rapid fluid resuscitation.  LifeFlow was cleared by the FDA in 2016 and is currently being marketed in the United States.

 

Position Summary:

The Clinical Educator (“CE”) will be responsible for the execution of LifeFlow-related training for nurses, physicians and paramedics. Training requirements include multiple shifts, including some nights and weekends. Training and education are critical touch points with health care providers so the positive relationships that the CE develops with providers will also play a key role in launching and expanding LifeFlow sales.  Under the direction of the VP of Sales and Clinical Manager this position will also help to develop and refine the clinical education and provide input on messaging and marketing.  This position will report to the VP of Sales and will work closely with the Clinical Manager and Clinical Specialists. 

 

The specific roles and responsibilities include those listed below. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Conduct product LifeFlow training for nurses, physicians and paramedics

·       Assess product placement and inventory in each facility

·       Cultivate strong relationships with providers, managers and purchasing

·       Seek out key account contacts through hospital networks

·      Coordinate the development and refinement of the LifeFlow education strategy and materials

·      Train Company clinical specialists and distributors as needed

·       Maintain inventory of demonstration devices and swap out as new generations of product are developed

·       Help coordinate the distribution and collection of LifeFlow surveys for feedback and information gathering

·       Provide input and support to sales and marketing teams related to refining messaging, market intelligence, lead follow-up, etc.  

·       Maintain thorough understanding of clinical subjects relevant to our products and markets, including an expertise in fluid infusion

 

 

 

 Skills/ Qualifications:

·      RN degree or Paramedic certification

·      5+ years clinical experience in ED or ICU setting preferred

·      2+ years clinical education experience in ED or ICU setting preferred but not required

·      Familiarity with hospital setting and navigating relationships between departments and floors

·      Strong communication skills, ability to convey ideas in a clear, concise manner

·      Demonstrated ability to quickly develop positive relationships with new people

·      Engaging personality and passion for sharing knowledge with others

·      Focus on collaboration: between co-workers, customers and hospital staff

·      Strong customer-service work ethic

·      Ability to shift focus in a rapidly changing environment

 

Other Requirements and Details:

·      Full-time role based in Durham, NC

·      Carry detail bag weighing up to 25 lbs

·      Ability to stand or walk in numerous hospitals at meetings for 6-10 hours per day

·      Significant travel involved; weekends and night shifts possible, up to 75% travel

·      Must be able to meet hospital credentialing requirements in order to observe products within a hospital or EMS environment

·      Maintain professional and clinical continuing education, licensure and credentials
