If so, we are looking for you to join our team as a Clinical Lab Scientist!

Our purpose is to provide accurate testing results, expeditiously, to allow medical professionals the data needed to care for their patients. This position is responsible for performing and interpreting clinical laboratory tests that require complete adherence to industry & equipment manufacturer guidelines.

OVERVIEW

  • Performs all laboratory tests necessary for diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Responsible for reporting results which are accurate as substantiated by use of appropriate controls.
  • Performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding of routine procedures for all areas of the laboratory.
  • We are a diverse laboratory that allows you the opportunity to learn multiple benches. This allows you to grow as a CLS.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

·         Ability to maintain records in accordance with procedure and regulations

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of records as required by state and federal laws and regulations

·         Ability to effectively delegate

·         Ability to make decisions consistent with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines

·         Scientific and technical knowledge from current sources, such as the AABB/FACT/NETCORD Standards and relevant guidelines related to FDA, CLIA, AND CMA, both state and federal

·         Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations and voluntary accrediting standards related to the operation of clinical laboratories and blood banks

·         Knowledge of laboratory processes, inventory requirements, and quality systems

 CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE 

Ø  Clinical Laboratory Scientist I – Associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology required. Two years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing preferred.

Ø  Clinical Laboratory Scientist II – Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, biological science required. One year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing preferred.

Ø  Clinical Laboratory Scientist II Licensed – Associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology AND MLT ASCP (preferred), AAB, or AMT certification required. Two years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing preferred.

Ø  Clinical Laboratory Scientist II Confirmatory – Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, biological science required OR Associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology AND MLT ASCP (preferred), AAB, or AMT certification required. Laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing preferred.

Ø  Clinical Laboratory Scientist III – Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, biological science AND MT ASCP (preferred), AAB, or AMT certification required. One year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing preferred.

 Other Relevant Information:

Will be required to comply with governmental regulations and strictly observe privacy and security related policies, procedures and practices to preserve the integrity and confidentiality of medical and other sensitive information pertaining to donors, patients, research subjects, and staff.

 Will be required to enter areas where other individuals work with human blood; potential may exist for unanticipated exposure to bloodborne pathogens by splash or spill.
