Role and Responsibilities |
General The Product Marketing Director is responsible for the supporting the product lifecycle for the product(s) assigned and managing a team of product marketers(s). Through collaboration with the Product Strategists, Sales Enablement, Marketing, Sales, and Research & Development, this position effectively develops the go-to-market strategy, provides content support, engages and launches new customers, and retains customer loyalty.
Messaging, Branding, and Collateral
Responsible for developing marketing messaging and collateral for all channels for each step of the buyer’s journey. Works with the content and digital marketing team to create a content strategy; works with research & development, copywriters, and graphic designers to create case studies, white papers, infographics, interactive web modules, and other digital and print content.
Will consult with Sales Enablement on training needed.
Responsible for owning and overseeing the usage of assigned product and corporate branding to differentiate between internal and competitive products.
Communication StrategyResponsible for developing communication plans and designing customer training events (if needed). Also responsible for designing marketing strategy and plan that is designed to meet the product line goals and will collaborate with the Marketing Lead Generation team in the deployment of the strategy. Creates communication strategy with thought leadership lens to support overall company goals.
Will support Product Strategy in conducting market research to support messaging and customer-facing resources.
Additionally, this role will manage and coach other Product Marketing team members by providing ongoing daily support and accountability, helping them track and achieve their goals, removing barriers to success, offering continuous improvement opportunities, overseeing daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly activities and performance.
