Finance Manager - Remote

Summary:

ASAP is seeking a REMOTE Finance Manager to aid the growth of our organization. https://adaptationprofessionals.org/   The American Society of Adaptation Professionals (“ASAP”) connects and supports climate change adaptation professionals to advance innovation and to excel in the field.

The Financial Manager position will provide exemplary leadership through network wide financial planning, as well as implementing, managing, and controlling all aspects of the organization’s finance-related activities throughout the scope of ASAP’s operational systems.

Duties, Responsibilities and Qualifications:             

● Manages the processing of invoices, remittance of payments, cash deposits, contracts and proposals and monthly bank reconciliations including member dues;
● Reviews and oversees compensation and benefits and pre-award grant applications;
● Develops standards for contracts, including preparation of the budget/payment terms, interim and final reporting;
● Coordinates with the Executive Director, Board President, and Board Treasurer to
provide strategic advice regarding budget planning and the financial implications of
programs and operations;
● Evaluates short- and long-term strategic financial objectives in coordination with the leadership team on an ongoing basis, including completing an ad hoc financial analysis.


Education, Experience, Knowledge:
● A minimum of or the equivalent of a  B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field with a minimum of five years full time work experience, high level accounting knowledge and skills, including the advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for nonprofit organizations.
● Skill in budget development, budget forecasting, cost analysis, and cash flow
management at all levels of operation, from project to firm-wide perspectives.
● Commitment to the principles of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Special Requirements:
● Fluency using video and audio calling, text, email, and digital calendar to connect and communicate across a remote team.
● Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.
● Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar).
● Experience working with PEO to track employee compensation, benefits, and time off.
● Experience using Quickbooks Online as well as NeonCRM and NeonPay (preferred).
Compensation and benefits
This is an at-will position with funding currently available for one year, with an intention to extend. It will offer a full time or flex-time-based annual salary between $65,000-80,000. ASAP may also elect to offer a full-time position after the initial year.
