The American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP) connects and supports climate change adaptation professionals to advance innovation and excellence in the adaptation field. We are a small, but rapidly growing non-profit in search of dedicated support for our finance systems and membership dues management.

This is a part-time position / 20 hours week with the possibility of growing into a full time position, based on organizational growth and interest of the incumbent. Compensation will be between $25,000 and $35,000 annually depending on experience and expertise.  

Responsibilities
  • Manage all fiscal operations in a nonprofit social enterprise with a mix of funding that currently spans public and private grants, private donors and fee for service.
  • Maintain an accounting system that meets nonprofit accounting requirements and fund management requirements including:
    • Developing budgets and accurately managing P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and reconciliation accounting; 
    • Creating quarterly financial forecasts and reports for Executive Director and Board of Directors;
    • Managing accounts payable and receivable processes in a timely and efficient manner;
    • Collaborate with external services to complete all statutory reporting;
    • Collaborate with the senior leadership on grant budgeting, tracking and reporting to funders and stakeholders.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis in a knowledgeable and flexible manner to aid in business decisions.
  • Manage member dues reconciliation.

Required Job Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting requirements.
  • Adept in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and cash flow management at all levels, from project to firm-wide.
  • Strong self-starter, able to anticipate needs and multi-task with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with ability to work cross functionally and at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience using Quickbooks Online.
  • Excellent computer skills using MS Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with NeonCRM, PayPal Manager, BrainTree (preferred).
  • Proficiency in G-Suite (preferred).
