Neurohacker Collective is seeking a full time controller. This position will perform a full spectrum of financial and accounting assignments, treasury and tax accounting activities and related analysis. The Controller is responsible for month-end close, audit support, accounting research and reconciliation, ad-hoc analysis and other projects. The Controller assists the Chief Operating Officer with due diligence by investors and lenders in connection with fundraising.  The controller is a member of the executive team and will serve as an advisor to other executive team members on business related questions. Our ideal candidate has an excellent working knowledge of GAAP and assists in ensuring that the principles are being practiced consistently in all responsible areas. We are seeking an independent self-starter with good critical thinking skills who can take a project and complete from start to finish.


  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.

  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.

  • Conduct Financial Planning including maintenance of our long-term financial model

  • Liaise with auditors to manage the audit process

  • Costs-of-goods accounting for raw materials purchases and manufacturing expense

  • Cash flow planning and treasury management

  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

  • Prepare detailed monthly operating plans and analysis of results by sales channel

  • Conduct Sales tax accounting and prepare filing of returns, including for international jurisdictions

  • Prepare financial statements

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Coordinate and provide financial reports and information for annual audit and tax returns.

  • Prepare due diligence information as applicable

  • Assist in special projects as needed

  • Advise other executives with finance questions and requests

  • Initiate business analysis and business reviews as time permits

  • Oversight over all accounting functions to include:

    • GL account reconciliations, general ledger expense analysis, and various journal entries

    • A/R, A/P,  bank account reconciliations and merchant account reconciliations 

    • The chart of accounts 

    • Regulatory filings

    • Monthly closing process


One part-time bookkeeper


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience. 

  • Advanced fluency in Excel and financial modeling

  • Experience handling the external audit process and footnote preparation

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting platform

  • Familiarity with Capitalization Table Software

  • Start-up and/or Entrepreneurial background preferred

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, sense of urgency and drive to meet organizational objectives

  • Ability to work independently with little direction

  • Team player with the ability to relate to all levels and functions

  • Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with confidential information

  • Continuous improvement including organizational processes and themselves
