About the Position 

 

As communications coordinator at The CAFE Group, you will support communications and external affairs efforts. This person in this new role, who reports to the chief communications officer, will maintain department operations and systems as well as produce content for the development and marketing functions at The CAFE Group. 

 

The coordinator plays a vital role in supporting our growth and engagement strategies. The position requires managing multiple tasks and projects as well as some strong CRM chops.  

Initially, the focus will be supporting digital newsletter production, managing metric reporting, maintaining Salesforce records (including donation tracking), and tasks to support donor stewardship. You can expect this initial split of responsibilities to be 60% communications and 40% development. Responsibilities 

 

Team & Development Support 

  • Support the CCO and Development Director with external scheduling needs 
  • Coordinate with communications vendors, managing relationships, invoicing, and ensuring timely project deliverables 
  • Assist in the creation of compelling branded materials and decks for donor outreach 
  • Maintain accurate records of donors, grants, and fundraising activities and help the team develop grant proposal submission materials 

 

Communications & Brand Management 

  • Maintain and ensure access to up-to-date branded materials across the organization 
  • Contribute to the writing, editing and production of publications including but not limited to e- newsletters, media releases, fact sheets, presentations, and other communications as needed 
  • Work with CCO to maintain and update website and social media accounts 
  • Coordinate and help produce collateral for TCG events 

  

Systems & Administration 

  • Manage and maintain newsletter lists and Salesforce contact records, ensuring data integrity and supporting targeted communications efforts 
  • Manage and maintain donor contact records in Salesforce and send acknowledgement letters 
  • Collect, analyze, and manage metrics to gauge newsletter performance and other communications campaigns 

Qualifications 

Essential Experience & Skills 

  • Minimum 3 years in communications or development roles 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software (Salesforce), website management (WordPress/Wix), and email marketing platforms (MailChimp) 
  • Strong communication skills with experience in writing and editing 
  • Knowledge of fundraising, donor database management, and grant writing

The successful candidate will earn up to 70k annually dependent on experience. The CAFE Group offers a generous benefit package including medical, dental, vision, matched 403(b) retirement savings plan, 15 paid time off days per year, a hybrid work environment, $1,000/year professional development stipend, a monthly cell phone allowance and 11 company holidays per year.
