About the Position  

The CAFE Group, a philanthropic nonprofit dedicated to investing in leaders of color, is seeking an Impact Associate to join our growing team. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to radically transform philanthropy.  

As the Impact Associate, you will play a key role in our program operations, event coordination, and data management efforts.  We're looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Position Overview  

Recruitment and Selection 

  • Program Communications: Lead inquiry support for prospective applicants and partners for both the 1954 Project and the LEAD internship program, providing guidance or routing inquiries to the appropriate team member. 

  • Process Operations & Logistics: Manage logistics for The CAFE Group’s programs, including building and implementing recruitment surveys, managing our bank of partner resources, coordinating application review committees, and ensuring seamless processes for both the 1954 Project and the LEAD internship program. 

  • Documentation: Prepare application documents for review teams, coordinate grant and payment processing for the 1954 Project, and ensure smooth onboarding and` placement for LEAD interns. 

Programmatic Events & Engagements 

  • Event Planning and Invitations: Manage guest lists, draft and send event invitations, and track RSVPs to ensure smooth communication with attendees. 

  • Day-of Event Coordination: Support the day-of logistics, including registration, set-up, and ad hoc troubleshooting to ensure successful event execution. 

  • Ad-Hoc Support and Flexibility: Provide additional support as needed for in-person and virtual event logistics, coordination, and other duties as assigned to ensure the success of all programmatic events. 

Impact Team Administrative Support 

  • Program Operations: Support the 1954 Project Director and LEAD Manager on team operations, including coordinating meetings, preparing materials, monitoring action items and follow ups, processing payments for grants and contracts, and other duties necessary to ensure smooth execution of program activities.  

  • Team Coordination: Field inquiries to the impact team’s mailboxes. Manage the creation of impact team meeting agendas, take notes, and elevate action items.  

  • Salesforce Data Management and Impact Tracking: Maintain program-related data in Salesforce, ensuring that all participant, grantee, and event information is up-to-date, accurate and easily accessible to the team.  This includes application tracking, participant reporting and event attendance. Use Salesforce dashboards to track key performance metrics for our programs.  

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in program coordination, event management, or a similar role within a nonprofit, social impact or philanthropic organization. 

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and; experience with data and operations software (Salesforce, Form Assembly, Asana) preferred 

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results under pressure. 

  • Excellent communication skills and cultural competency, adept at building relationships across diverse groups. 

  • Demonstrated ability to stay calm and effective in high-pressure situations. 

Compensation 

The successful candidate will earn up to 65K annually, dependent on experience. The CAFE Group offers a generous benefit package including medical, dental, vision, matched 401(k) retirement savings plan, 15 paid time off days per year, a hybrid work environment, a $1,000/year professional development benefit, a monthly cell phone allowance and 11 company holidays per year.
