Salary: $175,000 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience

Job Description Summary:
The New York Jobs CEO Council (“Jobs Council”) is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to work closely with the Executive Director and other individuals within the team to ensure the Jobs Council’s brand value is clearly and consistently represented throughout all internal and external marketing and communications. This role will ensure all activity is aligned to the Jobs Council’s strategic mission and is focused on raising awareness, establishing connections, fostering engagement, and eliciting action from key audience segments.

As Senior Director, you will be expected to nurture the internal team of communicators and marketers, deepen Job Council strategic relationships, and leverage agency partners to advance the organization’s strategic priorities. This role presents an opportunity to directly impact the future success of the Jobs Council and advance the mission to create a more equitable workforce ecosystem for all New Yorkers.

The ideal candidate for this role excels at brand storytelling and understands how to effectively communicate an organization's value to a diverse and varied set of audiences. They have a track record of initiating and nurturing strategic business and local community partnerships in order to execute large scale, integrated marketing campaigns. During their career, they have amassed deep knowledge and proven best practices in building and executing awareness, engagement, and communications strategies that drive results.

Candidates should possess an understanding of New York City's business sector landscape and its workforce development initiatives, coupled with a curiosity to delve deeper. As seasoned professionals, they should be equally adept in interacting with C-suite executives, community influencers, students, and individuals seeking employment opportunities. Moreover, candidates should exhibit the requisite experience and cultural acumen to effectively connect with and promote to diverse multicultural communities.

They are an outside-the-box thinker, excited by the possibilities of working in partnership with Jobs Council members to explore creative ways to positively impact the job seeking community of New York City. They are equally comfortable owning every aspect of a campaign, as they are guiding an agency partner, or working alongside a strategic partner to execute.

Most importantly, they are a strategic and inspiring leader who will bring clarity and
consistency to how the Jobs Council brand engages the New York City community for greatest impact.

Core Responsibilities:
● Strategic brand stewardship to ensure clarity and consistency of voice across all Jobs Council messaging and communications
● Develop integrated marketing strategies designed to position the Jobs Council to successfully meet strategic objectives and deliver on key performance metrics
● Implement creative growth marketing programs to increase employer engagement and activation of job seekers
● Build relationships and lead discussion with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment against shared strategic priorities
● Develop new, and deepen existing, strategic partnerships to elevate and expand the Jobs Council’s reach and influence
● Lead corporate communications efforts for the Jobs Council’s executive leadership team, including the development of thought leadership pieces, creation of talking points, and securement of speaking engagements
● Manage internal and external resources to align multi-channel marketing activities including, but not limited to, social media, email, and out-of-home partner activations
● Develop viable pathways for career growth with existing employees and identify opportunities for new talent
● Build a nimble, high-performing marketing and communications team ready to leverage opportunities, mitigate risks, and problem-solve through challenges
● Deliver ongoing reporting to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications activity with the express intent of refining and iterating for maximum impact
● Develop, monitor, and optimize annual budgets
● Manage agency relationships for campaign and always-on activity. Including, as needed, the ability to evaluate, negotiate, and select outside agency partners, vendors and consultants

Qualifications:
● 10+ years of professional experience in marketing and communications is required
● Demonstrated strategic leadership on brand, messaging, and communications
● Track record executing large-scale multimedia marketing campaigns that leverage the latest tools and technologies to engage audiences
● Experience working across a variety of media platforms, from social and video to traditional and non-traditional PR
● Experience leading marketing campaigns that are multilingual and/or multi-cultural
● Strong written and verbal communication skills across mediums and audiences
● Knowledge of New York City business sector and its workforce development ecosystem
● Event programming, planning and marketing experience
● Adept at managing agency partners for campaign work and always-on initiatives
● Demonstrated ability to build, structure, and manage teams
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools including, Google suite and Zoom
● Ability to travel within the NY-tristate area, as needed
