The Program Associate role is a unique opportunity for an individual who is poised to display creativity in innovating new program solutions and efficiencies. In line with The Contingent’s central commitment to equity and radical hospitality, the Program Associate will work closely with the Sr. Director, Every Child PDX (EC PDX) to strategize best practices for communicating essential information to diverse populations, efficiently meeting crucial and specific initiative needs through the lens of excellence, empathy, and compassion.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Program Communications  

  • Create and develop necessary communication materials and documents for EC PDX programs, events, website, and initiatives  

Team Support  

  • Crafting and tracking stories/interviews with beneficiaries/supporters to share with community  

  • Provide administrative support on funding efforts, i.e., grant writing, sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and other donor engagement  

Newsletters and Reports  

  • Oversee the execution of Every Child PDX newsletter 1x/month and other newsletters as requested on specified dates, as determined in partnership with the EC PDX team.  

Marketing  

  • Post content on social media as it is created  

  • Create graphics for social media  

Volunteer Management  

  • Acting as point-person for high-capacity volunteers (Box Site Coordinators, Liaisons, etc.)  

Education and Experience:  

  • BA preferred or 2 years of relevant work experience  

  • This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience with administration, communication,  
    and/or program coordination  

 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrates strong data management skills; excellent ability to enter, track, analyze and provide recommendations and learnings on data based on insight   

  • The ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse, perpetually changing environment, while maintaining a calm and positive spirit. 

  • Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of constituents utilizing multi-cultural intelligence, intentional listening, appreciation, and respect 

  • Effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills that is experienced in engaging with diverse audiences   

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams is preferred   

  • Proficient in Asana or other task and project management software is preferred   

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, or another CRM (Customer Relations Management) platform  

  • Experience in Timecounts  

  • Utilize multicultural intelligence, intentional listening, and appreciation and respect to engage with a diverse group of constituents

Employment Terms, Accountability, and Compensation:   

  • Full Time (40hrs) exempt annual salary offered at a range of $45,000- $50,000 (estimated total compensation $55,000 - $60,000) doe 

  • Starting placement will not exceed this starting salary range and is based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. 

  • This hybrid position is in Portland, Oregon  

  • Flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office, remote and on-the-go workers   

  • We have team members located in multiple time zones. To facilitate collaboration HQ Operations will not schedule all staff events outside of the 9am –2pm PST core hours. 

  • This position will be expected to work within The Contingent’s hybrid work policy (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home)   

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
