Opportunity Summary 

As a Senior Volunteer Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in empowering our volunteer community. Our Affiliates, who serve as the main contact and administrators for volunteers, rely on your expertise to enhance efficiency, training, education, and retention strategies. If you thrive as a “power user” in software platforms, enjoy analyzing data, and are passionate about supporting Affiliates, this position is tailor-made for you. Join us in mobilizing and retaining our dedicated volunteer base while executing meaningful volunteer appreciation activities. In this role, you will get to support Every Child PDX (EC PDX) and statewide Affiliates.  
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Affiliates in planning and executing volunteer appreciation and training activities 

  • Develop reporting processes to track community mobilization activities via volunteer engagement  

  • Develop ECO volunteer management resource hub  

  • Provide accurate and timely volunteer data for funder and volunteer requested reports 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Experience in volunteer management and program development is required  

  • Associates or bachelor’s with 5 years’ experience in related fields (nonprofit administration, social science, community development etc.)  

  • Experience building relationships, working with volunteers, recruiting, training, and managing  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrates strong data management skills; ability to enter, track, analyze and provide recommendations and learnings on data based on insight    

  • Effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills that is experienced in engaging with diverse audiences  

  • Bilingual/Fluent Spanish speaking required and basic reading/writing level in Spanish  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience   with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams is preferred

  • Demonstrates a passion for operational, technical, and customer experience excellence

Employment Terms:  

  • Full Time (40hrs) exempt annual salary offered at a range of $55,000 - $65,000 (estimated total compensation $64,300 - $74,500) doe  

  • Starting placement will not exceed this starting salary range and is based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity  

  • Comprehensive benefits including premium medical, vision, and dental insurance (covered 100% for employee and partially (80%) for spouse and/or dependents) generous paid holiday, vacation, sick, personal, and parental leave 

  • This position is in Portland, Oregon  

  • The Contingent has a flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office, remote and on-the-go workers  

  • We have team members located in multiple time zones. To facilitate collaboration, core hours for this position are 9-2 pm PST (6- 11 pm HST, 10–3pm CST, 12-6pm EST) 

  • This position will be expected to work within The Contingent’s hybrid work policy (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home) 

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
