Opportunity Summary:

The Manager of Digital Strategy understands and utilizes everyday digital touch points across multiple digital platforms to building a strategic and compelling campaign to build a brand image for The Contingent’s initiatives, including Every Child (www.everychildoregon.org), The Script (The Script), Thriving Families, and new initiatives, across digital space. This position is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, requirements, roadmap, and execution for digital campaigns. In addition to advocating for the user experience through digital channels, the Manager of Digital Strategy will work with a variety of teams, including technology, research and evaluation, program teams, and others to develop plans that will help The Contingent succeed in the digital space and meet measurable objectives. Informs the buy optimization process, ensuring that the rationale and actions are clearly aligned with marketing and digital strategy and managed with The Contingent’s initiatives. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Communicate with initiatives to determine their needs and provide recommendations for solutions that meet those needs.  

  • Collaborate with initiatives to establish measurable objectives. 

  • Analyze data and recommend changes to existing strategies to improve performance. 

  • Ensure that all projects are on schedule and within budget guidelines. 

  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues and vendors, and other digital professionals to create custom solutions for initiatives’ needs. 

  • Analyze current technology trends and make recommendations for future projects based on those findings in collaboration with the research and evaluation team.  

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of online marketing campaigns to determine whether they are meeting their goals.

  • Create written reports about findings and recommendations for future projects. 

  • Create and manage a plan for continuous improvement on the newly launched 
    ECO and TC websites through content strategy collaboration, monitoring and aligning SEO performance, and informing and evaluating landing page performance. 

  • This role may include a degree of variability in responsibilities and duties as deemed by the supervisor. The Contingent employees should be prepared for a dynamic work environment. 

Success Metrics: 

This position will be evaluated after one year on the following metrics: 

  • Communication and Presence – Ability to present digital marketing strategies to internal and external stakeholders. Lead and direct discussions on digital marketing strategies and results, and preparation to field questions. 

  • Problem Solving – Daily monitoring and evaluation of paid digital campaigns to track performance. Regular meetings and information sharing with the REIL (Research, Evaluation, Impact and Learning) team. 

  • Subject Expertise – Be the “go-to” subject matter expert for digital marketing implementation. Keep abreast of trends and changes in the broader industry.  

  • Partnerships – Ability to manage partnerships with external vendors and initiative partners to implement digital strategies. Collaborate internally with initiative program staff and fellow marketing team members.  

  • Team development and performance – Work in collaboration with the marketing team to plan, ideate and problem-solve with teammates. Be the voice of the “user/consumer” as the marketing team plans messaging and develops assets. Speak into what is needed from a creative angle for digital marketing assets. 

  • Organizational Growth – Share knowledge with The Contingent team to improve marketing performance.  

Additional Metrics used in the evaluation: 

  • Quarterly reports on digital performance with analysis and action plan 

  • Recommendations to help meet inquiry goals for Every Child Oregon, Every Child Arkansas 

  • Hitting goals in the marketing funnel – impressions, reach, clicks 

  • Manage ad budgets and ad buy timing in Meta, Google, and other platforms 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business, or related field preferred 

  • OR associate degree with four years' relevant experience

  • Certificate(s) in digital marketing required

  • 2+ years of experience as a digital marketing strategist managing paid digital campaigns is required 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience with SharePoint, Asana, and Microsoft Teams is preferred   

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, or another CRM (Customer Relations Management) platform

  • Experience supporting teams of entry-level professionals and coaching rising leaders in their development

Employment Terms, Accountability, and Compensation:  

  • Full Time (40 hrs.) exempt annual salary offered at a range of $68,000 - $72,900 (estimated total compensation 78,000 - $92,900) doe 

    • Starting placement will not exceed this starting pay range and is based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. 

  • This a hybrid position in Portland, Oregon 

  • This position will be expected to work within The Contingent’s Hybrid Work Policy (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home 

  • The Contingent has a flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office, remote, virtual and on the go workers  

  • We have team members located in multiple time zones. To facilitate collaboration across teams, core hours for this position are 9-2 pm PST (11-4pm CST, 12-5pm EST)  

  • Daily schedule and in office days will be a result of collaboration between the employee and their supervisor.
