Opportunity Summary:

You’ll be a member of our brilliant engineering team, contributing to the design of new innovative products. To be successful in this position, you should be a curious, problem solver and have experience in Power Platform, JavaScript and familiarity with Azure and Word Press. 

As the Software Engineer you will engage in designing, developing, and enhancing new and existing products. Participate in the maintenance, testing and evaluations of products. Provide proactive communication to the team about product progress, and blocks as they arise. One of your key goals will be to take part in team sprint ceremonies to prioritize, review, and discuss backlog items, ensuring the workload for upcoming sprints is always correctly prioritized.  

Your recommendations as a team member will follow reliable, efficient, and high-quality procedures. Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs. Works with other members of the engineering team to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to communicate product progress to team members. 

  • Collaborating with team members to build out and test products. 

  • Maintain product design documentation. 

  • Follows the recommended reliable, efficient, and high-quality procedures.  

  • Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.  

  • Works with other members of the engineering team to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines.  

  • Other responsibilities and duties as deemed appropriate by supervisor. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience (or equivalent work experience) in relevant fields engineering, computer science etc. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Front-End Technologies and CSS Design Systems: Strong knowledge of HTML5, React, Redux, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. And CSS Design systems such as Tailwinds, Bootstraps, or Material UI. 

  • Experience with WordPress: Proven experience in developing custom themes and plugins for WordPress. 

  • Responsive Design: Experience in creating mobile-first and responsive web designs. 

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate in a diverse, perpetually changing environment, while maintaining a calm and positive spirit. 

Additional Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, Azure DevOps etc.

Employment Terms and Accountability: 

  • Full Time (40hrs) exempt annual salary offered at a range of $75,000 - $89,250 (estimated total compensation $85,000 to $99,000) doe 

    • Starting placement will not exceed this starting salary range and is based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. 

  • This position is a part of a dispersed team matrix management.

  • This a hybrid position in Portland, Oregon.

  • The Contingent has a flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office, remote, virtual and on the go workers.

  • This position will be expected to work within The Contingent’s hybrid work policy (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home). Daily schedule and in office days will result from collaboration between the employee and their supervisor. 

  • We have team members located in multiple time zones. To facilitate collaboration across teams, core hours for this position are 9-2 pm PST (7- 12 pm HST, 11-4pm CST, 12-5pm EST).
