Position Summary:
The Senior Partnerships Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of The Script workforce development services to encompass early-stage career development, “opportunity job” placement for leaders in multiple industries (positions that offer higher wages and opportunity for growth), and wraparound support for all members we serve. They will be responsible for collaborating with program leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive sales and corporate partnership strategy to meet The Script earned revenue goals.
The Senior Partnerships Manager is a new role that will be integral in forming opportunity for increased economic and social mobility across BIPOC and rural communities and continued encouragement of local workforces to reflect the diversity of their communities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Partnership Development:

Create and implement effective sales strategies to attract new corporate partners and expand existing relationships

Identify and reach out to potential clients, conducting needs assessments to understand their workforce development and diversity goals

Present and promote The Script’s services to businesses, highlighting the benefits of workforce development and diversity initiatives

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in client organizations, ensuring ongoing communication and support

Work closely with Senior Director and Community Collider Product Manager to ensure alignment between client needs and service delivery
-
Conduct research to identify market trends, competitor offerings, and potential opportunities for growth in workforce development services

Track sales metrics and prepare reports on progress towards goals, analyzing data to refine strategies and improve performance

Provide ongoing support to clients’ post-engagement, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns or feedback

Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote The Script’s mission and services, and build strategic relationships

Act as an advocate for diversity and inclusion within the workforce, promoting best practices and sharing success stories with clients

Lead listening sessions with existing and potential company partners, and program participants to help shape new programmatic offerings based on identified needs.

Determine potential opportunities for collaboration and partnership within workforce development
Funding:
-
Collaborate with the Senior Director (alongside Generosity + Investment team at The Contingent) on fundraising strategy and efforts

Work with Generosity and Investment team to identify grant opportunities and apply for funding opportunities within workforce development
-
Connect with individual supporters within economic mobility work
-
Other responsibilities and duties as deemed appropriate by supervisor
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred
-
Certifications in sales, nonprofit management, and diversity and equity initiatives preferred
-
3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in nonprofit organizations, workforce development, or diversity sectors
-
Proven track record meeting or exceeding sales targets
-
Experience in building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions

Experience in networking, attending industry events, engaging with stakeholders to promote services and build partnerships
-
Experience in managing projects or programs related to workforce development, demonstrating the ability to coordinate efforts and deliver results
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Understanding of workforce trends, challenges, and best practices in training and development
-
Knowledge of diversity initiatives, equity practices, and importance of inclusive workplaces

Familiarity with sales strategies, customer relationship management, and lead generating marketing techniques

Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of constituents utilizing multi-cultural intelligence, intentional listening, appreciation, and respect

The role is highly strategic and entrepreneurial, and requires a candidate with initiative, energy for building innovative solutions, and is detail-oriented with relationships

Demonstrates strong relational skills and intuition with various stakeholders

Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills who is experienced in engaging with diverse audiences

Technologically savvy

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, preferred

Proficient in Asana or other task and project management software is preferred

Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, or another CRM (Customer Relations Management) platform

Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of cultures and socio-economic backgrounds

Employment Terms, Accountability, and Compensation:

Starting placement will not exceed this starting salary range of $75,000- $85,000 and will be based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

This position is in Oregon in the Portland Metro Area

The Contingent has a flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office, remote and on-the-go workers.

This position will be expected to work within The Contingent’s hybrid work policy (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home)

We have team members located in multiple time zones. To facilitate collaboration, core hours for this position are 9-2 pm PST (11-4pm CST, 12-5pm EST)
