WE ARE HIRING A 

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING 

We are hiring a Director of Marketing to join our growing team to implement new and innovative ways to drive growth and engagement across the company’s marketing channels to meet our audiences where they are! We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment and wants to help drive brand awareness, position Zephyr as a thought leader and develop marketing strategies from the ground up. A passion for the intersection of high-science and technology is a must! As our Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing the brand story and multi-channel product marketing strategy to drive revenue. You will manage multiple cross-functional agencies and support teams as well as an internal direct report. The successful candidate will be a creative storyteller with a strong background in digital marketing who can lead the development of content that conforms to digital best practices without sacrificing accurate messaging or creative standards.As a member of our growing multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in helping us tell our unique brand story and clearly communicate how our products have the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of patients. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develops brand identity. 

  • Helps craft compelling value propositions, positioning and messages for internal and external audiences to support our products and services. Develops and maintains user personas.

  • Creates marketing materials that highlight product features and benefits, including, but not limited to: messaging library, sales decks, master visual aids, sell sheets, etc. that has a consistent message and look and feel. 

  • Develops, implements and executes strategic marketing plans for the company.

  • Oversee all marketing campaigns for the company and makes data-driven decisions to support KPIs. 

  • Strategize, develop, and draft small and large-scale communications initiatives to various audiences (internal employees, investors and stakeholders, customers, and press and media) in partnership with support agencies.

  • Clearly communicates with cross functional teams (Product, Data, Engineering and Science) to amplify voice of customer and competitive insights to influence product development and launches; conducts market research, when necessary.  

  • Serves as a product and company ambassador, keen on educating customers on Zephyr’s capabilities.

  • Trains the sales teams on articulating the products’ benefits to prospects and develops the sales training collateral. 

  • Strong multi-tasker; simultaneously manages 10-15 cross-channel, interconnected work streams at once and is able to identify which are connected and affect the other without sacrificing attention to detail.

  • Engages in active social listening (including monitoring hashtags and branded keywords, detecting brand safety issues, managing social media crises, and identifying real-time marketing opportunities).

  • Maintains a high standard of quality across all channels, including copy, design, tagging, etc. — and ensures content is error-free.

  • Analyzes data and insights to improve future content and campaigns; understand what's working and what's not - and adapt.

SKILLS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE 

  • Bachelor's Degree required. 

  • 7+ years of experience in customer success, marketing,communications, and/or advertising- biotech/pharmaceutical experience or health-related industry, specifically in oncology, experience preferred.

  • Exceptional storyteller; excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt conversations for technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Extensive experience creating and executing marketing campaigns from concept to completion while maintaining the integrity of the brand. Innate creativity to craft novel, fun, and powerful campaigns all intended to build awareness, educate, and eventually convert prospects into sales.

  • Synthesizes and distills complex or diverse information; collects and researches data to make data driven-decisions; uses intuition and experience to complement data; analyze the performance and effectiveness of various go-to-market activities; tweaking messaging and creatives, optimizing targeting, and selecting the ideal channels and mediums for connecting with key decision-makers is crucial to the success and growth of the product.

  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; leads and participates in meetings; able to convey the product’s value proposition to a broad audience with varying levels of familiarity with their product, the problems it solves, and the category or industry as a whole; trains the sales team on how to position, sell, and demonstrate the product.

  • Creates a good report with the sales team, as the front lines delivering the messages; stays on the same page as the executive team as to how the product gets positioned impacts the overall perception and valuation of the company as a whole.

  • Previous experience growing, scaling, training and managing a cross-functional team that includes creative and technical team members marketing to HCPs, Payers, Pharma and/or patients. 

  • Track-record of staying on top of digital industry trends including new platforms/media, what competitors are doing, and current and emerging tactics & techniques.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel); design skills a plus.  Knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics. 

  • Comprehensive understanding of and fluency in all relevant marketing channels and social media platforms, especially LinkedIn. 

  • Experience with Sprout Social, or other social media analytic management tools.

  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines, including extended work hours when necessary.

  • Respect for the Oxford Comma.
