Founded in 1973 as a committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation (DJCF) became an independent entity in 1999 and a publicly supported organization in 2006.

Position Summary:

The Advisor Relations Director cultivates meaningful partnerships with professional advisors – financial, legal, and estate planning – to deliver impactful giving strategies, maximize charitable contributions and foster a deep sense of fulfillment for their clients.

This role advances the philanthropic reach of current and prospective fundholders of both the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation (DJCF) and the Southwest Community Foundation (SWCF) through relationship management, education, and strategic outreach.

The Foundation is widely respected within the advisor community for convening high-quality, peer-learning opportunities that deepen expertise, strengthen networks, and grow community impact. In addition to managing a portfolio of fundholders (primarily sourced through the Foundation’s advisor network), the Director oversees, markets, and executes the Foundation’s flagship advisor programs:

  • Professional Advisory Committee (PAC): Provides strategic direction and oversight of the foundation’s work within the professional advisor community of North Texas.
  • Annual Professional Advisors Seminar:  For three decades, this annual event has offered advisors leading insights on charitable and estate planning.
  • Quarterly Advisor Roundtables: Educational luncheons for seminar sponsors, encouraging peer-led learning and networking.
  • Bringing Philanthropy Home: With leadership and execution by Philanthropy Offerings, this legacy planning course is designed to sustain community organizations and encourage citizens to bring their legacy home to their family and community.

This position collaborates across departments and with volunteer leadership to advance the Foundation’s mission. No direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Professional Advisor Engagement and Strategy

  • Drive strategy and growth of DJCF’s professional advisor network, including leadership of the Professional Advisory Committee and cultivation of key relationships.
  • Expand and deepen advisor engagement through education, relationship-building, volunteer participation, and high-value programming.
  • Serve as a bridge between advisors and DJCF/SWCF fundholder services to ensure seamless experiences and outcomes.
  • Plan and manage advisor-facing events: Annual Professional Advisors Seminar, roundtables, and targeted networking gatherings.
  • Sets messaging and raises visibility of SWCF and Professional Advisors through various marketing and social platforms

2. Drive Fund Development Through Advisor Partnerships

  • Equip advisors with tools and resources that support client philanthropy and charitable planning.
  • Lead efforts to acquire new funds by cultivating direct relationships and leveraging professional advisor referrals.
  • Collaborate with advisors to connect prospective donors with philanthropic opportunities aligned to the Foundation's mission.
  • Leverage relationships with individual fundholders and DJCF lay leadership to identify new Advisor prospects

 

3. Steward Key Committees and Advisor Networks

  • Oversee the Southwest Community Foundation (SWCF) Committee and the Supporting Women Attorneys Network (SWAN).
    • Manage quarterly communications, calendar planning, and strategic collaboration with volunteer leadership.
  • Host advisor education events and roundtables, leading all aspects of
  • Lead advisor engagement on the SWCF platform to cultivate relationships and new fund opportunities

4. Manage Fundholder portfolios, Research, and Cultivation

  • Manage portfolio of current fundholders, providing personalized service and strategic philanthropic guidance.
  • Conduct prospect research on individuals, foundations, and organizations to support fund development.
  • Analyze donor history/ passions to inform stewardship and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the department head to support donor acquisition, relationship management, and track department KPIs.
  • Partners with Finance to review and ensure fund documentation aligns with donor intent and Foundation standards.

5. Enhance Foundation Visibility and Community Presence

  • Represent DJCF and SWCF in the broader Dallas philanthropic and advisor community to elevate the Foundation’s profile.
  • Serve as a visible and trusted liaison between the Foundation and external networks.

 

Qualifications:

Preferred Skills/Designations

  • Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) or comparable designation.
  • Experience structuring and managing giving vehicles: donor-advised funds, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, planned giving, and other estate planning techniques.

Ideal Background

  • Significant experience cultivating relationships with professional advisors (financial, legal, estate planning) and translating those relationships into sustained philanthropic impact.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing professional education events and roundtables.
  • Strong knowledge of philanthropic strategy, fund documentation, and donor stewardship best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage senior professionals and volunteer leaders.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and event management tools; disciplined approach to data integrity and KPI tracking.
  • Highly collaborative and mission-driven; thrives in cross-functional work environments.

 

Location: Dallas, Texas (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Reports to: Director of Impact and Agency Relations

Occasional local travel across North Texas for meetings, events, and community engagement; some early morning/evening commitments tied to programming.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000
