The Manager, Infrastructure and Shared Services 

     > is responsible for the strategy, planning, standards, design, implementation, support and performance of the enterprise end-user and infrastructure architecture and solutions that will effectively and efficiently support the strategic objectives and operational needs of the company. 
     > partners with business and technology leadership, developers/engineers, client success and delivery, and production support teams to impart knowledge on technical trends, provide technology options and design guidelines, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on systems configuration and integration, capacity planning, performance analysis and optimization. 
     > is responsible for the effective and efficient design and engineering of IT infrastructure used to support all business processes across the enterprise. This individual will have a diversified background of technical infrastructure experience, demonstrated project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure. This individual is also responsible for coordination with architecture resources to ensure that quality, efficiency and agility goals are achieved. 

As a member of the IT leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the IT strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

This role must be exceptionally strong at both strategic and tactical planning, managing expectations and deliverables, executing on commitments, and effectively building and strengthening relationships and communication internally with partners and externally with clients and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities
Fosters a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.
Leads the development of the infrastructure aspects of the IT strategy and modernization roadmap, and ensures its integration with the broader enterprise strategic plans.
Builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective infrastructure solutions are in place to meet those needs; and demonstrate ability to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
Leverages influencing and negotiation skills across IT and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
Participates in the assessment of external and internal infrastructure capabilities required to achieve desired business goals.
Maintains currency on new technologies and platforms, and provides direction on what emerging infrastructure technologies should be introduced, integrated and assimilated within IT.
Leads IT infrastructure involvement in the IT organization's innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.
Provides oversight for the design and development of IT infrastructure platforms that fulfill the needs of the business.


Essential Functions

1. Strategy and Business Alignment

Lead the definition and design of high value infrastructure solutions which align to corporate and functional business strategy. 
Provide business consulting services to key business stakeholders including systems integration best practice and process excellence principles. 
Lead the definition of future state infrastructure within assigned technical area by establishing strong business relationships, creating a strategic roadmap for realizing the vision and articulating technology impact to business processes and overall organization. 
Partner with Solution Architects to ensure that infrastructure decisions are consistent between functions, align to enterprise architecture, and leverage opportunities for common approaches.
Provide deep technical/industry knowledge to guide solution development and the lifecycle of technical solutions. 
Make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the infrastructure within assigned technical area by analyzing the current system environment and infrastructure, using technical tools and utilities, performing complex product customization, and developing implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful installation of systems hardware/software.

2. Acquisition & Deployment

Develops and controls the infrastructure annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT and manages expenses to stay within plan.
Manage financial aspects for projects including development and review of RFPs and SOWs, purchasing, budgeting, and budget review for projects
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for spending and initiatives.
Develop and implement all policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provisioning.
Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements. 

3. Operational Management

Direct the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of technical platforms, including software, integrations and infrastructure upgrades in conjunction with business process owners and infrastructure teams.
Oversee provision of end-user services, including technical support services.
Ensure managed service partners are meeting established SLAs
Approve and oversee projects and project portfolio.
Manages the portfolio of infrastructure assets and services from purchase or adoption through retirement. 
Support ensuring the security and monitoring of the environment.

4. People Development

Works with IT leadership team to forecast future skills needs to acquire and develop an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies.
Works toward a balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions are reliable, stable and efficient.
Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT infrastructure and shared services team and staff.
Build lasting and effective relationships.

Job Qualifications 
Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required, Physical requirements 
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience. Ten or more years of experience in IT
Five years of progressive leadership responsibilities
Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT infrastructure groups in complex and dynamic environments including management of cross-functional teams and influence of key IT and business stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership in infrastructure modernization in complex environments (Strategy, Planning, Design, Execution)
Attainment of relevant certifications and professional networking via involvement in industry groups

Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates IT infrastructure & shared services staff and aligns to the overall IT and business strategy
Ability to instill confidence in executive leadership through effective demonstration of the business value of IT

Success in leveraging both traditional practices, such as IT service management, as well as emerging methods, such as DevOps, that are optimized for agility

Strong vendor management and partner relation skills to identify and leverage resources internal and external to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that support business objectives
Ability to drive organizational change and build infrastructure capabilities that effectively balance the need to continuously exploit capabilities to optimize operational efficiency with the need to deliver innovative and agile infrastructure and operational solutions to enable the business to explore new opportunities
