Position Summary:
Docupace Technologies
looking to hire a Network and Security Engineer that is primarily
responsible for the architecture, design, security, and implementation of our
production networking environment and related security tools. Qualified
candidate must have significant on the job Cisco and Palo Alto experience
along with broad experience in Infrastructure/Networked environments with
hardware (routers, switches, firewall, etc.), software, network security
practices, designing, planning and implementing LAN-MAN-WANs using the
industry standard technologies.
The candidate should drive continuous improvement and growth of the company
through strong skills and experience in data network technologies and working
within both private and public cloud environments to deliver software as a
service.
The candidate must be
able to see projects through all stages, including defining, requirements,
drafting and presenting technical proposals, deploying and maintaining the
best solutions. Must be able to design, maintain and execute a future term
strategic roadmap for the corporate network (processes, technology,
security).
A strong commitment to technical excellence and teamwork will be required, as
this individual will be in a strategic position to influence and lead change
within the IT Organization. This position will require occasional on-call
support and off-hours maintenance work.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Act
as the primary project resource for any projects impacting the corporate
network
- Respond to security incidents
to investigate, mitigate, and recover if necessary.
- Evaluate new technology and
present business cases and ROI analysis for adoption
- Establish security processes
and procedures to ensure audit compliance with our network systems.
- Evaluates; develops and
maintains telecommunications systems
- Capacity management for DOCUPACE’s
production network, working across department to understand and plan for
future needs on our network.
- Determine long term network
strategy, future technology needs and hardware adoption to accommodate
enterprise growth and capabilities.
- Establishes and implements
LAN policies; procedures; and standards and ensures their conformance
with information systems and organization objectives
- Hardware and Software
Lifecycle Management
- Implementation, and support
of the network security infrastructure including Cisco and Palo Alto
firewalls, content filters, VPNs and all layers of network security.
- Participate in Root Cause
Analysis reviews
- Ensure correctness of all
diagrams; device checks and databases
- Maintains network security
and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Evaluates hardware and
software, including peripheral, output, and related equipment.
- Participates in the
development and implementation of network-related procedures and
standards.
- Participates in and may lead
aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
- Interfaces with vendors to
ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of
reduced performance.
- Develops and implements
testing strategies and document results.
- Troubleshoots and resolves
complex problems.
- Maintains current knowledge
of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
- Maintains the integrity and
security of network devices and systems
- Patches and updates network
device operating systems to established hardening standards
- Develops scripts and tools to
automate and improve user support activities
- Monitors overall network
health and troubleshoots reported events
- Train and mentor junior
networking administrators.
- Acts as a network consultant
to project teams
- Maintains system
documentation
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS
or related field required.
- Cisco CCNP required with a
strong security focus; Palo Alto and/or CISSP certifications are desired.
- Strong working knowledge on
Palo Alto layer 7 firewalls.
- Working knowledge of load
balancers (e.g. F5) and proxy servers (e.g. bluecoat)
- Ideal candidate should have
at leastten (10) yearson the job experience in
routing and switching in an enterprise environment
- Comprehensive hands on
experience with LAN/WAN/MAN technologies.
- Comprehensive hands on
experience with Cisco ISR routers, Cisco 6500/4500 switches, and Cisco
Nexus platform.
- Strong understanding of
routing protocols.
- Comprehensive Network
Architecture experience. Including network design, reference
architecture and design documentation.
- Strong working knowledge with
SDN and/or automation
- Strong working knowledge with
hybrid networking between physical datacenters and cloud services like
AWS/GCP/Azure
- Strong knowledge in wireless
security: WPA/WPA2, PEAP, EAP-TLS, 802.1X.
- Proficiency working with
access control list (ACLs), TCP/IP. VLAN, Traffic Shaping, priority
queuing, class of service (QoS) and IP routing.
- Strong working knowledge of
VPN and Global Protect.
- Ability to work autonomously,
develop long term strategic enterprise network goals and create a
network technology roadmap.
- A desire and ease in
establishing credibility with fellow engineers through mutually deep
technical skill sets. Ability to make presentations to managers and/or
other engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving
skills. Able to take complex tasks or problems and break it into smaller
more manageable pieces. Works with vendors to resolve issues. Feels
comfortable working with customers and gathering requirements.
- Serve as an escalation point
with on-call issues after hours network issues.
- Very occasional travel up to
20%.
