American Soybean Association’s economist will conduct analysis, communicate the results, and provide economic materials for the organization. This position is based in St. Louis, MO and will interact with the teams in St. Louis and Washington, D.C., along with board members and various other stakeholders.

 

A farmer-led organization, the American Soybean Association (ASA) has served as the national trade organization that advocates on behalf of U.S. soybean farmers on domestic policy issues and international trade issues for more than 100 years. ASA represents the collective voice of 500,000 soybean growers in 30 soybean-producing states.

 

The Mission of ASA is to advocate for U.S. soy farmers on policy and trade.

What we need:

 

  • Five plus years’ experience as an agricultural economist.
  • Experience with U.S. row-crop production or supply chains.
  • Driven to learn and solve problems.
  • Strong ability to conduct data analysis.
  • Proven ability to communicate and interact with various team members in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure, with a desire to excel at completing tasks on time.
  • Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Statistics, or relevant field.
  • Understand biotechnology and herbicide issues, sustainability as well as conservation practices and programs preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience in R, Tableau and with API’s software a plus!
