The American Soybean Association (ASA) is looking for an executive director of government affairs to lead and manage its D.C.-based advocacy team, oversee development and implementation of policy advocacy, and execute on ASA’s strategic plan. This position will collaborate across ASA departments, with the board of directors and soy state affiliate members, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
ASA is a national trade association that advocates on behalf of U.S. soybean farmers on domestic and international trade issues. It is the collective voice of nearly 500,000 producers in the 30 primary soybean-producing states, represented by 26 state affiliate members. ASA is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and its Government Affairs team is based in Washington, D.C.

What we need:
- Experience (7-10 years minimum) working on federal legislative and regulatory matters impacting food and agriculture.
- Keen awareness of Legislative and Executive processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, political science or related field.
- Strong communications skills—spoken, written, and listening.
