About the Position
The Manager, Strategic Programs+ Activations is responsible for creating unique, highly experiential, innovative and distinct programs that cultivate community conversations about Downtown Denver’s future and build a generation of city-building leaders, while educating established civic leaders.
Working closely with the entire Strategic Programs + Activations team, the Manager will be responsible for curating the suite of programs within the Downtown Denver Partnership engagement and activation priorities including but not limited to: Skyline Park programs, Parade of Lights, Denver Start Up Week, Downtown Denver Awards and other legacy events/programs determined by our organization work plan.
This role will ensure that the Partnership offers a diverse range of programs and events that appeal to various engagement styles and audiences.
About the Job
This is a fast-paced, creative and fun position with opportunity to work cross functionally within the organization with great opportunities for growth. This position has access to Downtown Denver Public and Private Sectors and community leaders.
- Manages and grows Skyline Park Activations, working closely with the Senior Manager of Strategic Programs + Activations to ensure the programs produce meaningful and measurable impact in the Downtown community while being financially viable.
- Provides event support to Summer in Skyline and Winter in the City Programs.
- Manages production aspects of our member engagement events (Annual Meeting, Downtown Denver Awards, Denver Startup Week).
- Manages program budgets to ensure that revenue targets and expense line items are not exceeded.
- Assists in the creation of promotional strategies with team and Marketing to support the success and profitability of assigned programs and events.
- Maintains professional demeanor to members, sponsors, volunteers, contractors, the general public, fellow employees, and provides support as needed to Partnership administrative functions including phone coverage at the reception desk.
- Follows department processes to organize and maintain master records, written procedures, timelines, distribution of electronic, hard copy, and original files, and the execution of expense vouchers and invoice requests.
- Attends and provides overall event support at Partnership events as assigned. At times this requires flexibility and a willingness to work nontraditional hours.

About You
To be successful in this position, you must be a strategic and creative communicator and team leader with a keen sense of event knowledge and understanding of how best to support the Strategic Programs + Activations (SP+A) Team in engaging stakeholders. You must have the capacity to support all team-related initiatives and possess a deep commitment to instilling practices and a culture that reflects The Downtown Denver Partnership.
- Superior and distinctive organizational and planning skills demonstrated through 3-5 years of relevant, progressively responsible event experience.
- Strong communication skills and fastidious attention to detail. Impeccable grammar, spelling, and language facility.
- Passion for and commitment to city building and planning initiatives of the Downtown Denver Partnership.
- Excellent project management, including proactive and independent development of work plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Ability to initiate and manage relationships with internal and external partners.
- Orientation as a team player and leader with strong management skills.
- Ability to succeed in a distinct and dynamic culture.
- A great sense of humor and collaborative orientation.
- A metrics-driven, entrepreneurial mindset that informs strategy and work.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and standard office equipment.
- Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours in advance of and during events.
- Experience and knowledge of event production management, general operations and guest experience elements.
