Summary:
Responsible for meeting the promotional and brand design needs of the PKD Foundation. Utilizes current and emerging print and digital design trends to visually convey brand and organizational mission. Project manage website and execute needed updates. To be successful in this position, you’ll be a self-starter, capable of managing several different projects among internal and external clients and showing extensive attention to detail.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide graphic design support and development on communications and marketing campaigns both internally and externally which may include custom graphics creation and materials development (materials may include fact sheets, flyers, posters, web banners, icons, infographics, and templates)
Act as visual storyteller, offering creative solutions for creating and editing of projects based on written and visual content, and ensuring quality control and consistency on final projects
Manage all website content and complete website updates. Monitor website health. Stay up to date on trends in web design and SEO.
Project management of assignments to assure that projects and materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the expected creative and business objectives.
Maintain creative assets files and resources, such as stock and Foundation photography, special fonts, Foundation logo and sub brand logos, software programs and updates, etc. Implement and maintain organizational brand standards.
Assist with marketing efforts including vendor management and production of all marketing and educational materials.
Assist leadership with ad hoc initiatives that align with the Foundation’s objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred plus 2-4 years work experience in graphic design or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Must be an expert in digital illustration and layout software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, WordPress, and InDesign.
Present a portfolio that demonstrates ability to create compelling visual designs and develop brand identities. An understanding of video editing software is a plus.
Must possess understanding of digital/web and print processes, photography, illustration, and web development.
Knowledge of solid communication, organizational, and project management skills required. Nonprofit/rare disease experience is a plus.
Ability to collaborate effectively among highly diverse (geographically & professionally) team.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Must be comfortable working in variety of work teams and applying marketing and communications skills to organizational initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously required.
Must be timely in meeting all project-based goals and anticipate challenges.
Travel Requirements:
Less than 5%.
Occasional business travel will be required to the PKD Foundation office in Kansas City, Missouri. Employees residing outside of the Kansas City Metro must live within reasonable proximity to a major airport hub for required travel.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Use hands and arms, read, stoop, crouch, talk, hear, see objects clearly at 20 inches or less.
Lift and move items weighing up to 20 lbs.

Salary Range: $48,000-$54,000, depending on relevant experience

Multiple factors may be used to determine your actual salary, including: your specific skills and experience, physical location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets. The anticipated pay range for this role is: $48,000-$54,000
