Summary:
The Community Development Strategist leads the execution of the fundraising strategy for assigned community development events. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing specific Walk for PKD events, the Fundraise Your Way program, 3rd party events, and achieving budgeted revenue goals.
Core Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for the Fundraise Your Way program, developing new fundraising strategies, growing participant engagement, coaching participants, and increasing revenue year over year.

Directly manage, coordinate and cultivate assigned fundraising events and fundraisers including Fundraise Your Way, Walk for PKD, and 3rd party events.

Manage online fundraising software database in coordination with the Community Development Specialist and ensure effective use of the platform.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

Steward and coach volunteers and donors through one-on-one and/or team meetings and contribute to online communications to help achieve their fundraising goals.

Act as point of contact for select ambassadors during their fundraising events.

Monitor, aggregate, and interpret data relevant to all channels of Community Development for use in strategy development and decision-making that aligns with organization and program growth.

Be proactive and current on industry best practices/standards to ensure that the Foundation’s fundraising programs remain fresh and competitive.

Proficiency in Salesforce, Classy, and Excel required.

Completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred plus 5-7 years' experience in a similar or larger sized national non-profit organization with a focus in peer-to-peer fundraising or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Volunteer management and event planning & management experience required.

Working knowledge of annual fundraising cycles and fundraising software required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to quickly build rapport via Zoom, phone and e-mail required.

Diligent work ethic and commitment to follow-through required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.

Advanced problem solving and team-building skills required.

Advanced project management experience required.

Superior customer service skillset required.

Ability to collaborate effectively among highly diverse (geographically & professionally) teams required.
Work Location and Travel Requirements:

Position is remote, home-based, available only in the Continental US.

Employee must have dedicated workspace free from distractions.

The workspace should be large enough to work efficiently and have reliable internet and phone connectivity.

Flexible work hours required to accommodate occasional community events.

Employees residing outside of the Kansas City Metro must live within reasonable proximity to a major airport hub for required travel.

Occasional business travel will be required to the PKD Foundation office in Kansas City, Missouri.

10-15% business travel required across the US.

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, PKD Foundation provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. The anticipated pay range for this role is: $55,000 - $65,000. Multiple factors may be used to determine your actual salary, including: your specific skills and experience, physical location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.
