The Energy Industry is being disrupted by a number of new technologies like EVs, Solar, Batteries, Smart Meters, and Smart Home devices. Consumers are becoming self-sufficient with their own energy production and storage threatening a century old utility business model. Additionally, the grid was not designed for the peaks created by EVs and the valleys created by the solar generation which has created new challenges and opportunities for the utilities (and innovative companies) to manage an evolving grid.

The Position and the Team You’ll Work With

Director of Sales is a member of our core sales team and is responsible for originating new customers and driving deals to successful close. The ideal candidate will own sales targets, formulate go-to-market strategies, and identify the resources required for success for Bidgely’s EV Intelligence and Segmentation and Targeting product suites. The Director of Sales will work closely with our pre-sales and technical teams to determine if a given prospect impacts the value proposition for the Bidgely customer. The Director of Sales reports into the VP of Sales. 

  • Manage day to day sales efforts for Bidgely’s product suite including development, qualification, and execution of sales opportunities through cold-outreach and introductions via warm hand off

  • Collaborate with marketing, technical sales, and product to ensure successful execution of new deals 

  • Build relationships with customers and key decision makers to become trusted industry resource

  • Monitor and provide timely and accurate forecasts of business performance, opportunities, and pipelines

  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce

  • Review, prepare and negotiate proposals with customers

What You Will Bring

Must Have:

  • At least 2+ years of experience in B2B SaaS or Software sales selling to utility companies.

  • 5+ years utility experience working with/for electric, gas and/or water utilities in North America.

  • At least 2+ years of experience cold calling; prospecting and developing long-term relationships with enterprise level customers.

  • At least 2+ years of experience carrying a sales quota.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with desire to learn the consultative selling process. 

  • Strong desire to work in a dynamic fast-paced work environment and to develop understanding and influence over the utility buying process.

Location

  • This is a remote role with a potential of up to 40% travel

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is $130,000-$150,000/year with OTE up to $300,000/year
