Role Overview
The Gas Account Executive (AE) is a quota-carrying sales role focused on acquiring and expanding business with North American natural gas utilities and LDCs. You will own the full sales cycle—from targeted prospecting and account strategy to solution shaping, RFP orchestration, commercial negotiation, and close. Success in this role requires expertise in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales, comfort navigating regulatory and program-driven buying processes, and a strong grasp of the gas utility landscape (customer experience, DSM/EE, emissions reduction, AMI analytics, and displacing or complementing legacy CX platforms).
This role collaborates closely with product marketing, presales/solutions, delivery, regulatory, and customer success to turn strategic opportunities into long-term, scalable partnerships.
What You’ll Do

Build and execute territory and account plans for gas utilities and LDCs: identify whitespace, align Bidgely value to strategic and regulatory drivers, and develop multi-threaded relationships across business, regulatory, IT, and program teams.

Drive net-new logo acquisition and account expansion: originate opportunities via targeted outreach and events; progress complex cycles with rigorous BANT discipline; manage pilots/POCs to value; negotiate commercial terms through close.

Orchestrate the end-to-end deal process: coordinate discovery, solutioning, storytelling, proposals/RFPs, legal and procurement, and executive reviews to maintain momentum and forecast accuracy.

Partner for scale: engage channel/SI partners and technology alliances where advantageous; establish clear roles and deal strategies that accelerate time-to-value for the customer.

Champion the gas segment POV: translate market and regulatory trends (e.g., DSM/EE, AMI gas analytics, customer experience modernization, decarbonization/NGIM) into compelling value propositions and repeatable plays.

Collaborate cross-functionally: work with presales on high-impact demos and business cases; with regulatory on filings and program alignment; with CS/Delivery on successful handoffs and land-to-expand strategies; and with Product/PMM on feedback loops and competitive positioning.

Operate with discipline: maintain high-quality pipeline hygiene and activity in Salesforce; deliver timely, accurate forecasts; use data to inform next actions and deal health.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of enterprise sales experience with utilities or utility-like regulated enterprises, including meaningful exposure to gas utilities, LDCs, or dual-fuel organizations.

Proven track record closing complex SaaS/analytics or platform deals with programmatic and/or regulatory elements; comfort managing RFPs, pilots/POCs, and procurement/legal stages.

Familiarity with utility customer experience, DSM/EE programs, and AMI/interval data analytics; ability to translate these into measurable business value and compelling ROI narratives.

Command of modern sales workflows and methodologies and tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Excellent written and verbal communication; strong executive facilitation skills.

Self-starter mentality, resilience, and ownership mindset in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Nice to Have

Experience selling into gas organizations with portfolios such as AMI gas analytics, customer engagement/CX modernization, marketplace/market transformation, or DSM/EE program optimization.

Existing relationships across gas utility business leaders, program managers, and regulatory/filings stakeholders.

Familiarity with partner ecosystems relevant to gas utilities (e.g., SIs, meter/AMI providers, CX platforms).

Location and Travel

Remote role based in the United States; travel to customers, conferences, and team onsite sessions as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
