The Position
We are a rapidly growing healthcare technology company seeking a hands on Controller to lead our accounting team. Reporting to CFO, as the Controller, you will be responsible for leading the accounting team and managing the day-to-day accounting operations of Claritas Rx. The business is expanding rapidly and the Controller, working closely with the CFO, will develop the company’s accounting function to provide business partners with accurate, timely, insightful financial information, and support the Company’s growth in a fast-paced high-energy environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage key accounting functions including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare the monthly financial reporting package for the executive team and board
- Lead the audit process and act as the primary liaison with our independent auditor in preparing our annual financial statements.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, optimizing working capital and forecasting cash needs.
- Oversee banking relationships and transactions, including debt financing and investment activities.
- Develop, implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes and corresponding documentation.
- Drive ongoing process improvements to reduce the accounting close cycle, increase process efficiency, and enhance the quality of management information.
- Work closely with external tax advisors to develop tax strategies and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Review tax returns and filings, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
- Hire, train and mentor the accounting team.
- Special projects as needed.
Requirements
- CPA with 5-7 years of applicable experience, including previous experience as a Controller
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Experience using NetSuite, proficient in excel
- Experience working with high-growth, fast-paced startup SaaS companies
- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Proficient in GAAP
- Detail oriented, accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills ability to interpret and document financial analyses
- Hands on, self-starter, ability to work independently
- Identify issues, improve processes and resolve problems
- Prior experience working in a growth stage, start-up environment.
