Position Summary: Speechcenter, A Sidekick Company is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team at our pediatric speech therapy clinic in Winston-Salem, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, specifically with Medicaid for the state of North Carolina, and be responsible for supporting Accounts Receivable (A/R) and aging reports, as well as managing patient ledgers. The Billing Specialist will ensure that billing is accurate, timely, and in compliance with Medicaid guidelines, while providing exceptional support to our administrative and clinical teams.

Preferred Experience and Essential Duties:
- Accounts Receivable (A/R): Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient accounts, ensuring all balances are accurately recorded and resolved in a timely manner.
- Aging Reports: Generate, analyze, and review aging reports to identify overdue accounts and develop strategies for resolution.
- Patient Ledgers: Maintain and update patient ledgers to ensure accurate billing information and payment history.
- Medicaid Billing: Submit Medicaid claims, track payments, and ensure compliance with North Carolina Medicaid policies and regulations.
- Claims Follow-Up: Work with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies, denials, or rejections of claims.
- Payment Posting: Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding billing and payment issues. You will work closely with clinic families working on insurance and payment questions and issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the clinical team, office staff, and management to address billing concerns and provide support.
Computer Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced level computer skills required
- Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills required
Language Ability:
- Effectively respond to questions from office staff and clinic team
- Respond effectively to time-sensitive inquiries
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to show patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong organization and documentation skills with an ability to multitask, manage and prioritize multiple and competing projects
Work Environment: The Billing Specialist will work at the clinic in Winston-Salem Monday-Friday, with the option to work remotely on occasion. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
