Horizons Community Solutions, Inc. seeks to hire 1 part-time Health Educator/Coach to coordinate a CDC-funded project to assess the impact of a telephone-based home food environment intervention on dietary behaviors among 2-1-1 callers. The intervention, Healthy Homes/Healthy Families (HH/HF), was developed by the Emory Prevention Research Center and partners in collaboration with Horizons. The intervention is designed to target home-based environmental changes to improve healthy eating and prevent weight gain. This position will require an average of 8-10 hours per week devoted to the following activities:
- Deliver the telephone-based Healthy Homes/Healthy Families obesity prevention coaching intervention to the United Way's 2-1-1 callers in Southwest Georgia.
- Coordinate intervention delivery and related activities such as intervention tracking, data entry and analysis, preparing summaries and reports, and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Health
Education or a related field and two years of experience in an area related to
health education, OR a combination of education, training and experience. Excellent
organizational, communication, and interviewing skills. At ease communicating
with participants via telephone. Highly motivated and detail oriented. Must
complete a web-based training on the protection of human subjects in research.
