JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW                                         

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Business Development Officer is responsible for performing a wide range of complex and unique regional leadership functions for Horizons Community Solutions. In conjunction with the CEO, the Chief Business Development Officer focuses on securing the resources necessary for fulfilling the organization’s mission. Responsibilities include building and nurturing relationships with partners, identifying new partners, identifying new funding opportunities, and strategizing new programs and campaigns. The Chief Business Development Officer serves as a high-level representative of and an ambassador for the organization. Incorporated in 2002, Horizons is a rapidly growing, nationally recognized nonprofit organization. The position is located at Horizons’ main office in Albany, Georgia, with approximately 20% required travel throughout South Georgia and other areas of the state.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans.
  • Identify and evaluate new business/partnership opportunities in the healthcare sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, and partners.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients and partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and partners.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of potential business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Attend industry conferences and events to network and promote the Horizons.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with business development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with Horizons’ goals.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of business development initiatives to the CEO and Board
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities and progress.
  • Manage budgets and resources for business development projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare management (required). Master’s degree (Preferred). Proven track record of driving business growth and forming strategic partnerships.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

  • No certifications are Required or Preferred

Experience:

  • 5-8 years in business development (Required)
  • 4-6 years in management (Preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.)

  • Works in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Period of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • May be required to work outside of normal business hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Approximately 20% travel required; must have reliable personal vehicle and a safe driving record, and be eligible to rent vehicles for out-of-town travel (at Horizons’ expense).
  • May occasionally be required to lift/carry 10 lbs., and with assistance, lift/carry 20 lbs.
