Position: Sr. Manager Merchandising, Jewelry & Small Leather Goods
Founded in 2014 by Jerome Jacques Marie Mage, Jacques Marie Mage is a Los Angeles-based producer of limited-edition designer goods specializing in the micro-production of luxury eyewear for a clientele of discerning tastes.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the President, the Sr. Manager of Merchandising, Jewelry & Small Leather Goods will lead the development and execution of merchandising strategies across new product categories of the business to achieve short- and long-term financial goals (sales, margin, profitability). This person will be integral in developing and building a balanced collection for all channels.
Your responsibilities are – but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Set and guide strategic direction and high-level assortment plans for new product categories, leveraging competitive market intelligence to gain and maintain marketplace.
Develop the annual and seasonal merchandising plans and goals and articulate business metrics and lead teams to deliver results.
Identify key items and growth opportunities for cross-functional partners.
Partner with the cross-functional teams to develop an efficient product development calendar as well as lead the team in management of work to achieve milestones.
Review and approve creation of style plans and designs to meet sales needs and emerging trends; partner with, design, product development, sales, and marketing to identify and generate new opportunities; ensure execution to time-and-action calendar; ensure brand cohesiveness and market leadership across categories.
Partner with marketing, digital and e-commerce teams in the development of innovative omnichannel campaign strategies that drive traffic, conversion, and sales across all channels.
Lead the initiative of competitive shopping and research to identify new and emerging relevant trends and translate into current and future business plans.
Encourage the utilization of creative methods to continuously develop an understanding of the current and future customer; apply that customer insight to the evolution of the brand and concepts.
Collaborate with finance and sales teams to develop effective pricing strategies.
Key Requirements:
A relevant bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience
5+ years of experience in eyewear, jewelry, or accessories as a business leader with major business driving functions including product management, merchandising, or product development
3+ years management experience and success w/ cross functional partnerships.
Industry knowledge, being able to act as a market expert for the business.
Strong business acumen and understanding of financial metrics and profitability analysis.
Strong instinct and passion for product, blending art and science with a consumer centric approach to decision making
Excellent collaboration skills, including a proven ability to communicate with various levels within the organization
Strategic w/ proven ability to grow a category and bring big ideas to market.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience product forecasting, statistical modeling and/or strategic planning
Experience in retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities.
Understanding of sales, product design, development, and manufacturing process
High degree of agility and adaptability
