About the Role
The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliation of daily and monthly sales, inventory, and cash transactions, including verifying point-of-sale data, managing bank and book balances, and addressing discrepancies. The position also supports month-end and year-end closing procedures, focusing on Fixed Assets, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliation, while maintaining adherence to company policies and internal controls. Accurate reporting on cash positions and liquidity is provided to management, ensuring the integrity of financial records.
Responsibilities
Perform daily and monthly sales and inventory reconciliation to ensure all sales transactions are recorded accurately and timely and correspondent inventory movements are appropriately reflected in the ledger.

Assist with daily and monthly cash reconciliations, including US and international bank accounts, merchant processors such as Shopify, and cash receipts.

Research and resolve cash reconciling items, chargebacks, and payment discrepancies.

Prepare cash, treasury, and tax supporting documentation for external auditors and tax advisors.

Support the accounts payable process by researching invoices, resolving vendor inquiries, and reconciling vendor statements.

Assist with payment processing, bill posting, bill payments, making sure invoices are accurately recorded and supported.

Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Operations to resolve invoice, receiving, and Purchase Order discrepancies.

Maintain organized vendor documentation and support continuous improvements to the accounts payable process.

Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general accounting responsibilities in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting a plus

Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with affinity for working with data is a must. Strong knowledge of NetSuite a plus

Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
