The Systems & Infrastructure Administrator at Software Design Solutions (SDS) maintains the information technology and infrastructure at SDS, following the strategic guidance of senior leadership. This position is a support position, with the emphasis placed upon ensuring all engineers at SDS have the tools they need.

Responsibilities & Duties

  1. System administration of Windows and Linux workstations and servers.
  2. Network administration, including basic firewall configuration and switch management.
  3. Manage user access to all SDS systems and tools, including SDS Windows domain access.
  4. Acquire, track, and renew software and hardware support licenses.
  5. Monitor network and workstation performance and address any performance issues
  6. Manage routine scheduled maintenance tasks such as patches, backups, and security scans
  7. Work with the Facilities Specialist to address infrastructure needs of engineers, including setting up new user workspaces, network cable installation, and other needs.

Qualifications

  1. Independent worker – able to take tasks through to completion with little guidance.
  2. Degree or Certificate in Information Technology, Network Management, or equivalent experience.
  3. Experience or training in managing a Microsoft Windows domain.
  4. Experience or training in basic network management.
  5. Experience in managing Linux machines is a plus.
  6. Certification in network security is a plus.
  7. US Citizenship is required.
