Secure Decisions, a division of Applied Visions, Inc. (AVI), is searching for an Interaction Designer that is comfortable with diving into ambiguous problem spaces and bringing back processes, techniques, and a level of quality that exceed expectations. At Secure Decisions, we design and implement cutting edge technology solutions that help people in the government and private sectors defend computer networks and ensure the security of application software. We are a leading provider of cyber security R&D and have a strong track record of successfully commercializing our research.

Your responsibilities will be to design software application user interfaces, including dashboards and information visualizations, for visually-oriented decision support systems. These systems will be used by many different types of computer professionals (including security analysts, computer network defenders, and software developers) to accomplish their day-to-day work. As interaction designer, you will have significant influence over how interaction design will meet—or better yet, exceed—our clients’ objectives.

The successful candidate will be a curious, observant, and insightful problem solver. You can show us how you’ve taken information about people and produced compelling tools that meet their needs and help them achieve their goals. You should have a deep understanding of major players and platforms in technology space but, if not, you have a demonstrated track record of quickly building a working proficiency in new subject areas. This person should possess strong presentation skills; and an ability to sketch and whiteboard to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Secure Decisions offers a competitive salary & benefits, while simultaneously providing a rare opportunity to develop your skills while working on important and interesting challenges with top quality talent in a collegial environment. Hone your ability to work the fuzzy front-end of the product development process and collaborate closely with software engineers to take a rough idea to a working prototype.
