The Regional Sales Manager will be a leader within the sales team, bringing their fleet relationships and expertise in the industry to Idle Smart. The ideal candidate will have a customer-centric approach to sales, an intense sense of urgency, and a strong commitment to results. A key focus of this role is to understand customer needs, goals, and pain points, and provide solutions through a consultative sales process as a trusted advisor to fleets. They will establish and maintain strong relationships with their largest prospects and customers, as well as collaborating with their inside sales team throughout the sales cycle to build a book of business of new and recurring customers.
This role might be a good fit for you if you:
- Are comfortable with a complex sales process. You have a history of helping fleets evaluate the TCO of their vehicles and evaluating technology ROI.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas. You set goals for yourself and take responsibility for your performance.
- Communicate clearly, write well, and speak persuasively. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you’re equally comfortable leading in-person product demos or Zoom presentations, on the phone or via email.
- Get along well in a small team environment. We are a family. Who doesn’t hesitate to jump in and help each other, and sometimes takes Friday afternoons off for a Tank 7 or margarita.
- Are proactive. You have a can-do attitude and ability to work and motivate yourself independently while also working collaboratively across the team.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proven direct sales experience: 5+ years
- Heavy Duty Trucking industry experience: 3+ years
- Proven record of running highly efficient customer acquisition and retention efforts
- Mastery of and rigorous adherence to CRM system
- Effective time and sales pipeline management
- Entrepreneurial. Must be resourceful and thrive in a laid back but fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Intense curiosity and comfort with ambiguity
- 4-year college degree

- Experience with multi-year SaaS agreements
- Have read Patrick Lencioni books
