(AVI), is searching for an App Sec specialist to join our multi-disciplinary team of software developers, psychologists, and computer security experts. AVI, our parent company, builds commercial mobile apps and software to support the rapidly expanding Internet of Things market.
The successful candidate will be a curious, observant, and insightful problem solver, who can identify technical gaps in the application security domain and design compelling tools that fill that gap. You should maintain an awareness of state of the art application technologies and have a demonstrated track record of quickly building a working proficiency in new subject areas. Our ideal candidate will serve as an application security evangelist, and should be comfortable with presenting in public forums about AppSec practices and innovative solutions.

You should be able to
• Perform application (web and mobile) and penetration tests on different platforms and technologies.
• Identify challenges in the practice of application security that may be solved or mitigated with the introduction of automation or innovative technical solutions.
• Closely monitor and assess progress on the development of new application security solutions by in-house staff or contractors.
• Conduct source code review to identify software program vulnerabilities and malicious embedded code.
• Simulate real-time cyber-attacks using red team/blue team exercises.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on static and/or dynamic application security testing including the effectiveness of the tools used in that testing.
• Prepare a report on identified security vulnerabilities and provide recommended mitigation and remediation insight.
• Assist in continuously enhancing the existing penetration testing methodologies.
• Have the ability to work as part of a team and be a self-starter; you possess strong analytical, problem solving and inter-personal skills.
• Present ideas and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preference Given to Candidates with
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Electronics), or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
• Comfort in working on various platforms and operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, Kali).
• An understanding of the OWASP testing methodology and knowledge of penetration testing tools.
• Professional certifications such as CEH, GMOB, GPEN, GWAPT, OSCP, OSWE
