Our client is a global information and measurement company with leading market positions in marketing and consumer information, television and other media measurement, online intelligence, and mobile measurement. We are looking for a talented developer to help create and enhance real-time marketing analytic software tools that analyze consumer shopping behavior and provide an understanding of product marketing and sales performance in order to make critical decisions that drive manufacturer and retailer sales.

You will work with an established team of software engineers and data scientists to understand and extend a sophisticated multi-dimensional data analytics system. You will work with product management teams to understand customer requirements, with data scientists to understand and refine statistical models that meet customer needs, and with the software engineering team to turn those models into fast and efficient executable code.

You should have:

· Ability to understand and implement statistical models, and to interact with data scientists

· 3-5 years of C++ experience working with object-oriented design, familiar with STL

· Understanding of application and database development standards and methodologies

· Strong SQL experience and familiarity with RDBMS concepts

· Experience working in the UNIX/Linux environment, utilities and shell programming

· Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to think outside the box

· In-depth understanding of technology standards

· Strong communication, interpersonal skills as well as sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information

· Comfort with collaboration and open communication across globally-diverse IT groups

· Understanding of the developer workflow with an eye towards continuous improvement

Nice-to-haves:

· The Scala programming language is rising in prominence within the data science community; experience with or an interest in Scala will be a plus

· Experience with Microsoft MFC, Visual Studio

· Experience with software lifecycle tools including Jira and Git

· Familiarity with unit testing tools and frameworks

· Knowledge of multi-threading and parallel processing

· Understanding of large datasets, ETL and big data concepts

· Experience with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem

· Agile mindset (comfort with iterative, frequent deployments) and experience with agile development methodologies
