The Role 

To help us build the next generation of online and mobile wine stores that will be used by tens of millions of people, we’re on the hunt for a superb Email and Lifecycle Copywriter who shares our passion for building cutting-edge experiences to transform how people buy wine. The Email and Lifecycle Copywriter will create compelling marketing communications that trigger an immediate response. While the ideal candidate will work within established brand guidelines, this person will be well versed in online email marketing techniques and will be fueled by a desire to create marketing communications that exceed goals, leading to increased opens, clicks and conversions.

 

What You'll Do

  • Write copy for daily emails that drives consumers to take immediate action, while maintaining brand positioning for Wine Insiders and Martha Stewart Wine Co.
  • Create engaging, response-generating copy that maximizes response and Average Order Value (AOV)
  • Develop relevant segmented email communications for all phases of the customer communications journey: new customer welcome, lead nurturing, active customer, lapsed customer, and winback
  • Develop copy for email landing pages that converts customers and maximize upsells
  • Develop multiple compelling subject lines for Daily Emails
  • Liaise with designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style
  • Review results from marketing communications, and apply learnings into future copy concepts/approaches
  • Support larger digital and print team on general copy needs where suitable as needed (projects may include website updates, banners, social media, and direct mail/print)
  • Work within schedules and budgets while managing workflow from concept to execution
  • Take on special projects as necessary

 

About You

  • 2+ years of email marketing experience
  • Ability to seamlessly work with all departments within the company
  • Strong proofreading ability
  • Motivated, self-starting drive with an adaptable sense of urgency
  • Well organized and ability to multitask
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing business
  • Exceptional time management and ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Excellent judgment skills and team working abilities
  • Very strong verbal/written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility in work schedule as needs arise
  • Ability to collaborate with marketing team as well as work independently on projects


Bonus points for:

  • Experience at a start or similar fast-paced tech environment  
  • Long form direct response copywriting experience
