Job Summary: 

The Senior Design Director is responsible for leading and managing a design team including user research, user experience design, and UI design across a variety of web and mobile products. 

This individual will be responsible for setting the creative vision and direction for the team and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Champion research and design across diverse functional areas in the company

• Lead and manage a team of designers and researchers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. 

• Own backlog and roadmap of user research and design team and drive execution and coordination aligned to product roadmap

• Act as a mentor for individual contributors, providing guidance and support to ensure their success. 

• Develop and implement design thinking techniques to turn customer discovery into delightful software, including user research, mockups & prototypes, user & usability testing

• Maintain a strong understanding of current design trends and technologies to ensure that designs are up-to-date to industry HCI and accessibility standards

• Work across marketing, engineering, and product to create a unified design strategy aligned with Curative branding and market positioning, and product roadmap

Experience:

• A bachelor's or associate's degree in graphic design, UX/HCI, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5-10 years managerial or senior-level design experience.

• Compulsive attention to detail - if something is off by 1px, you notice and take action

• Strong communication skills and the ability to drive design changes and improvements

• In-depth knowledge and experience implementing design, UX methodologies and user feedback systems

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Ability to set up design processes integrated with stakeholders, product, engineering, and QA
