Curative is seeking a motivated Tax Senior that is looking for growth opportunities and to obtain an accelerated learning experience in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with and report to the tax team to assist with all aspects of the tax department, which may include facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s federal and state tax forms and workpapers. This position is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of public or corporate tax experience that wants to learn first-hand how tax impacts the various facets of a new, fast-growing business. An effective Tax Senior will have solid knowledge of accounting and tax processes and principles, take initiative, have good attention to detail, and is organized.

Responsibilities 
 Coordinate and work with the external firm on the Company’s quarterly income tax provisions and federal/state tax returns.
 Ensure the accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns, estimated tax payments, extensions, and other business-related filings.
 Prepare/review tax returns and workpapers related to sales/use tax, property tax, and other business-related/statutory filings.
 Prepare/review month-end book journal entries related to sales/use tax, property tax, and other business-related/statutory filings.
 Prepare/review weekly tax payment forecasts.
 Correspond with IRS and state jurisdictions for notices and income tax audits, which may include preparing responses, creating support schedules, etc.
 Provide support with various special tax related projects.
 Conduct tax research, including nexus requirements for direct and indirect taxes, and prepare internal tax memorandums.
 Verify general ledger tax accounts and work with the accounting team on booking appropriate journal entries.
 Work with various internal departments in gathering information needed for tax deliverables.
 Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
 Maintain various tax trackers and organize files.

Qualifications
 Preferred candidates have 3-5 years of experience in public or corporate tax with a focus in either: Health insurance, State and local taxes, and/or Income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
 Preferred candidates have a current CPA license or are working towards one.
 Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
 Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
 Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements.
 Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
 Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel for pivot tables, logical formulas, etc.
 Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
