Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Maintain on-time deliveries for all jobs in production.

·         Maintain quality control procedures.

·         Maintain and promote ISO and/or certified quality standards.

·         Coordinate efforts with purchasing, assembly, & QC to move jobs through production workflow in a timely manner.

·         Make machine & tool adjustments as needed to maintain part conformance.

·         Able to set up and run CNC Swiss Lathe turning centers or Live Tool Lathe machines. Able to program Fadel CNC machine with set up.

·         Able to create detailed setup and work instructions.

·         Able to deal with tight tolerances +-.0001 on low-volume Tooling projects (ex. electrodes)

·         Able to deal with tight tolerances +-.001 on medium to higher volume parts.

·         Mastery of working with small parts, ie. size of parts that fit in the palm of your hand.

·         Management ability

·         Able to train other machinists to set up & run production parts.

·         Adjust part dimensions with offsets, change inserts, tool center centering, adjust/replace collets & guide bushings.

·         Able to design & mill fixtures for production runs.

·         Consistently clean & maintain machines & related equipment to ensure optimal condition.

·         Creates process instructions that identify operations, tool sequences, fixtures, speeds,  and feeds for parts requiring any type of machining operation.

·         Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor/Plant Manager.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Mastercam programming skills – X9 is the current version in use (5+ years)

 Master machinist Level A machinist or Tool/Die Certification

 Project Management experience

Extensive experience programming 4-axis, 5-axis, & 3-D contour complex precision parts

 Ability to program, setup, and initiate new production runs through FAI (5+ years)

 In depth knowledge of materials and tool selection for proper application

In depth  knowledge of set-up techniques to ensure optimum quality and productivity through the manufacturing process


Physical Requirements:

Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor.

  Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 20-25 pounds.

 Must be able to continuously stand and/or walk for extended periods of time on concrete surfaces.

 Ability to repeatedly kneel, bend, crouch, reach, and/or stoop throughout the shift as needed to successfully perform job duties.
