POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing & ERP Data Management Specialist supports production operations by ensuring accurate input, maintenance, and reporting of data within the company’s ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central). The role focuses on entering and validating production data, managing work orders, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting reporting needs.

 

This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to learn and navigate ERP software, and a solid understanding of manufacturing workflows. The Specialist will also assist in training production staff on correct ERP transactions and support the rollout of new system features or process improvements.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ERP & Production Data Management

  • Create and release Work Orders from Sales Orders within the ERP system.
  • Accurately enter and update production data, including inventory movements, material usage, scrap, labor reporting, and finished goods outputs.
  • Maintain and monitor Work Order status throughout the production cycle.
  • Verify data accuracy daily; identify discrepancies and correct errors promptly.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standardized ERP procedures for production transactions.

 

Reporting & Data Integrity

  • Generate production, inventory, and work-in-progress (WIP) reports as needed.
  • Assist with data retrieval for operations, quality, and management teams.
  • Help ensure data integrity by following established controls and validation processes.

  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate production delays or material issues to Customer Service Representatives (CSR) and appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Inventory Control, Logistics, and Quality to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Provide ERP transaction guidance to users and escalate systemic issues to IT.

 

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with ERP training for production and warehouse staff.
  • Support the rollout of new ERP features, process changes, or improvements under the guidance of the IT department.
  • Participate in ongoing skill development to improve ERP proficiency and understanding of manufacturing processes.

 

Inventory & Quality Support

  • Lead or assist in cycle counts and physical inventory counts for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Support Quality and HSSE systems by ensuring ERP data aligns with required documentation and production controls.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend training as required to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills for working across multiple departments.
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing processes (inventory, production flow, BOM concepts).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or another ERP system.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, production planning, or inventory management.
  • Experience in data analysis or reporting tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot ERP transaction errors and provide user guidance.
