About the role:
As a Data Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the growth, innovation and continued improvement of high-value, applications for our consumer goods and retailer customers.
In the short term, you will:
Become familiar with our infrastructure, current database platforms, data model, and our project management process
Create normalized models for new data application requirements
In the long term, you will:
Understand business requirements and translate into large data models that deliver performance, reduce duplication where reasonable, and allow for expansion as new features are added to products
Aid in data receipt and delivery through cloud services and other standard methods
Assist in ETL/ELT duties which may include building Python-based pipelines and connectors to external systems
Assist development team in design of new APIs to support an open data platform
Keep informed on the latest data technologies and advise Nuqleous when changes to the tech stack should be considered
Other duties as assigned

Must Have’s:
5+ Years’ experience working with databases
2+ Years’ experience with data model design
Experience supporting a transactional application with a database layer
Advanced skills in T-SQL query design
Experience with Python
Ability to lead a project from start to finish –
Collecting requirements
Architecting solution
Implementation
Supporting the finished product
Nice To Have’s:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Experience with Azure
Experience with source code management (e.g., GitHub, TFS, GitLab, BitBucket)
Experience with query performance tuning / diagnosing query issues
Experience with Snowflake, Exasol, and/or MS SQL Server
Experience with DBT
Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration platform
Experience in the retail industry

You will work with our Software Architect (Sabrina Shepherd) and a new team of developers at Nuqleous
