Job Summary:
The Director of Strategic Programs will play a pivotal role in advancing Bridges' mission by leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs that enhance the organization's impact and reach. This senior leadership position reporting to the CEO requires a strategic thinker with a deep commitment to workforce development, inclusion, and the empowerment of young adults with disabilities.
Core Responsibilities:
The Director of Strategic Programs primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to define and execute the organization's strategic vision and goals.
- Lead the design and scaling of new programs and initiatives that align with Bridges' mission and expand its national footprint.
- Monitor industry trends, best practices, and policy developments to inform program strategies and ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Drives strategic growth, compliance oversight, and systems development organization-wide.
- Works with Director of Operations to support operational excellence and special project execution.
Program Development & Innovation
- Oversee the creation and refinement of program models that integrate job readiness training, employer partnerships, and post-placement support.
- Implement data-driven approaches to assess program outcomes and continuously improve service delivery.
- Foster a culture of innovation within the organization encouraging the exploration of new methodologies and technologies.
- Creates and analyzes metrics around program performance with current database infrastructure
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including school districts, vocational rehabilitation agencies, employers, and community organizations.
- Advocate for policies and practices that support inclusive employment opportunities for youth with disabilities.
- Represent Bridges at conferences, forums, and other public engagements to promote the organization's mission and programs.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead team dynamics of Youth Employment Specialists fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff competencies in program delivery and participant and employer engagement.
- Ensure that all programs adhere to Bridges' standards of quality, integrity, and accountability.
Resource Development & Sustainability
- Collaborate with the Development team to identify funding opportunities and support grant writing efforts.
- Assist in the creation of compelling narratives and reports that demonstrate program impact to funders and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of sustainable business models that support program growth and financial health.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a nonprofit or social services organization.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and scaling programs that serve youth with disabilities or other underserved populations.
- Strong understanding of workforce development, inclusive employment practices, and transition services for youth with disabilities.
- Proven ability to build and sustain partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including schools, employers, and government agencies.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Ability to operate a vehicle or proficiency in using public transportation for commuting to various locations on a regular basis.
