Job Description
As a Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Buyer Relations Specialist, you will serve as a key liaison between buyers and Benchmark International’s internal deal teams across active sell-side mandates. This role plays a critical part in supporting transaction progression by managing buyer engagement, facilitating communication, and ensuring alignment between buyer interest and sell-side deal objectives.
You will interact directly with private equity firms, strategic acquirers, family offices, and other financial and trade buyers. This position requires strong business and financial acumen, professional judgment, and the ability to manage high-volume engagements with accuracy and discretion in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
This is a relationship-focused and process-driven role designed to enhance transaction efficiency, strengthen buyer participation, and support successful deal outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for buyer inquiries and guide them to appropriate Benchmark International client M&A opportunities.
- Manage buyer engagement across mandates, communications, trade events, and deal-related interactions.
- Oversee the buyer deal portal and related systems to ensure accurate access and updates, and collaborate with Operations and Systems to enhance the user experience.
- Plan, coordinate, and attend buyer-focused events, conferences, and trade shows to support ongoing buyer development and long-term relationship building.
- Provide feedback and insights regarding buyer engagement and market response.
- Efficiently manage and track buyer inquiries, mandates, communications, and engagement activity.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align buyer engagement strategies with transaction objectives.
- Proactively assess buyer needs and ensure timely follow-up and satisfaction.
- Manage high-volume inbound buyer communications, exercising professional judgment to prioritize inquiries based on transaction relevance and deal objectives.
- Maintain accurate buyer data and CRM records through regular audits, updates, and process improvements.
- Identify and recommend reliable data sources to support strategic decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement of buyer engagement processes to increase organization, responsiveness, and overall deal flow efficiency.
- Follow established communication protocols, compliance guidelines, and internal policies.
- Cultivate and strengthen long-term buyer relationships to support future mandate participation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong understanding of the M&A transaction lifecycle.
- Experience in process development required.
- Prior experience in customer support, client services, or relationship management required.
- Sound business and financial acumen.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems; experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed throughout the US.
- Ability to obtain a Florida real estate sales associate license within 90 days of employment.
- No enforcement history with the SEC, FINRA, or any state securities regulatory bodies.
Salary
Annual salary range: $50,000–$75,000 based on experience.
