SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the direction of licensed medical providers and provides non-licensed patient care and clerical duties to support a frictionless experience for Apple employees and dependents attending various Apple health initiative events.
The two shifts available for the Fixed Term roles will be:
• Opening: Monday - Friday from 7am-3:30pm
• Closing: Monday - Friday from 10am-6:30pm
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Greets patients and performs initial appointment intake.
• Screens patient’s general condition prior to administering vaccines.
• Provision of influenza and/or Covid vaccines by intramuscular injections.
• Accurately documents in patient records.
• Provides intervention to optimize patient flow to minimize wait times, as needed.
• Is prepared to safely intervene in the event of an adverse reaction or other patient emergency.
• Answers questions, and recommends follow-up during Flu Clinic events.
• Continually works to achieve the highest level of patient satisfaction.
• Escalates issues or obstacles to Lead Logistics MA or management when indicated.
• Assists with organizing, maintaining supplies and equipment. This includes moving supplies and equipment at various sites on Apple Campuses across Santa Clara Valley.
• Ability to drive between different locations, at times multiple sites in one day.
• Follow established procedures for vaccine storage and handling according to manufacturers cold chain requirements. Ensures accurate and complete documentation of vaccine cold chain through the workday.
• Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when interacting with patients and co-workers.
• Adheres to policies and protocols of AC Wellness.
• Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Additional duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 2 years medical assisting experience or a minimum of 160 back office extern hours;
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of a medical assistant;
• Current AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, OR CCBMA certification required;
• Current BLS from AHA for Healthcare providers;
• Documentation of successful completion of training and observed practice requirements for Intramuscular injections (may be completed as part of ACW training);
• Documentation of successful completion of training and observed practice requirements for technical supportive services (may be completed as part of ACW training);
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong customer service skills;
• Ability to maintain composure under stress;
• Ability to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy, attention to detail, and courtesy to clients and staff;
• Consistently work agreed upon hours and or schedule;
• Proficient keyboarding and computer abilities;
• Experience using Apple products preferred;
• Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license and comply with CA liability insurance;
• Compliance with AC Wellness Occupational Health Policy, including required immunizations.
