SUMMARY

The provider role is to help shape and deliver a new healthcare offering that leverages emerging technology to care for and support patients. This role provides acute and chronic disease care as well as preventative care consultations. As a new virtual care model, comfort with and enthusiasm for new methods of care delivery is essential.

The service is 6 AM to 8 PM everyday PST (7 days/week and 365 days/year) and the provider will do various shifts. The daily requirements will vary slightly from 3-6 hours/day of clinical time. 4-8 weekend and holiday shifts per month are a requirement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Proficient with and curious about technology and using it in new ways to benefit care.
  • Collaborate with team members virtually using collaboration tools/spaces.
  • Document effectively in medical record of each patient the basis for diagnoses made, treatment provided and treatment plan established.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop best practices and to further develop operational workflows as the service grows.
  • Evaluates and treats patients with acute and chronic complaints, preventative health consultations and health maintenance concerns.
  • Obtains appropriate histories and may need to perform focused physical exams via photos and video with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients.
  • Requests and evaluates diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient.
  • Orders and prescribes medications.
  • Orders specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
  • Order ancillary services as indicated for care such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology examinations and nursing services.
  • Obtains informed consent, as indicated.
  • Acts as a patient advocate for employees and family members in times of crisis and is proactive in assisting patients find appropriate and timely care.
  • Focuses on quality of care and the patient experience including timeliness and effective communication.
  • Engage with patients and practice medicine through chat and video telemedicine modalities.
  • Documents well in medical record of each patient the basis for diagnoses made, treatment provided and treatment plan established. Must be EHR proficient.
  • Makes appropriate use of available referral and consultative services and of clinical and non-clinical services.
  • Protect patients’ right to confidentiality to participate in decisions about his/her care.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and protocols of AC Wellness Medical Group.
  • Participates as requested in clinical and non-clinical health care protocol and procedures, clinical guidelines, and clinical and non-clinical quality assessment and improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of Primary Care and/or Acute Care experience required.
  • Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPC-NP), or an Emergency Nurse Practitioner Certification (ENP).
  • Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required.
  • Current DEA and California license.
  • Comfortable with change and willingness to work in a non-traditional practice model.
  • Must be flexible in regard to physician practice models and clinic schedule (extended hours of service, 18 hours each day/365 days a year).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personal and professional integrity of the highest order.
  • Current DEA and California, Washington, Nevada or North Carolina license. Other licenses may be required to obtain.
  • Comfortable with change and willingness to work in a non-traditional practice model.
  • Compliance with AC Wellness Occupational Health Policy, including required immunizations.
  • Must be flexible in regard to physician practice models and clinic schedule.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team.

This position is fully remote. Must comply with AC Wellness Remote Work Guidelines. This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Consistent with the organization’s expectations of information security and privacy for employees working at the office, remote work employees will be expected to ensure the protection of proprietary company and customer/patient information accessible from their home office.
  • Employees are expected to maintain their home workspace in a safe manner, free from safety hazards.
  • It is preferable that employees have desk and a height-adjustable chair.

 

COMPENSATION

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $ in our lowest geographic market up to $ in our highest geo-graphic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

  • Lowest Market (US National) range: $59.00-$69.00/hour
  • Mid Market (Major) range: $67.00-$78.50/hour
  • Highest Market (Premium) range: $74.00-86.50/hour
