The Health Programs Registered Nurse works to create a frictionless experience for all patients at onsite flu clinics and health promotion events. This RN role is responsible for performing vaccinations, collecting vital signs, conducting point of care testing and documenting interactions. In addition, the Health Programs RN connects patients with resources for follow-up in order to promote optimum health and empower patients to take an active role in their health. 


This is a PRN role and will be staffed on an as-needed basis for the programs.

 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 


  • Vaccinate patients against influenza and complete the necessary documentation at flu clinics at various sites on the Apple Campuses, including but not limited to Santa Clara Valley and Elk Grove, CA. 
  • Obtain vital signs and other biometric data; collect capillary blood samples; conduct point of care testing and document all accordingly at Health Screening Events at various sites on the Apple Campuses, including but not limited to Santa Clara Valley and Elk Grove, CA. 
  • Is prepared to safely intervene in the event of a syncopal episode or other patient emergency.
  • Answers questions, offers teaching and recommends follow-up during Health Promotion events.
  • Participate in other employee health programs, as needed.
  • Continually works to achieve the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Continually evaluates patient flows and provides intervention to facilitate patient flow to an optimum time line.
  • Anticipates potential problems/obstacles in daily operations and intervenes effectively.
  • Maintains the strictest confidentiality.


NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Provides input for improving operations and implementing efforts to improve the quality of care in a cost-effective manner.
  • Engages in other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Current California RN license.
  • Registered Nurse degree from accredited school.
  • 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider.
  • Demonstrates comfort and enthusiasm for new methods of care delivery using technology.
  • Models excellent communication and problem solving skills with all staff, patients, providers and others by using a positive team approach.
  • Serves as a role model for professional behavior in the delivery of patient care.
