Wellinks (formerly Convexity Scientific) is a connected medical device company that has created a portable nebulizer to transform respiratory care. Our flagship product, the Flyp nebulizer, has seen successful sales and rapid growth and adoption. Looking to the future, our next phase of development will expand our ability to reach patients and improve the entire treatment experience. We are introducing a connected device platform that can track treatment metrics, connect patients and care providers, and help patients breathe freely.

We have closed our Series B and are growing quickly. We are currently working with a solid team of software contractors and are developing our in-house talent and engineering team.

 

You will be working closely with the Chief Product Officer and President of Wellinks. In the beginning you will be working with the contract engineers and helping us lay the groundwork for our connected device platform. This position requires both the technical knowhow to direct and evaluate in-house and contract developers, as well as the leadership ability to build a team around you as the company grows. This is a key position focusing on high priority initiatives, and there is significant opportunity for career growth and autonomy for the right candidate. Responsibilities for this role include:

·       Working collaboratively with Chief Product Officer to develop product milestones, requirements, and timelines for software platform

·       Leading implementation and review of software features

·       Designing and supporting verification and validation testing as needed

·       Hiring, training and development of junior engineers

·       Coordinating work between contract developers and in-house development team, manage transition of work towards in-house development as the team grows

·       Keeping up to date on software development and security best practices

·       Implementing regulatory requirements and procedures

Need to haves 

·       Experience launching products and pushing product releases for consumer use 

·       Has worked in a team and managed direct reports

·       Strong communication skills and comfort working with users

·       Commitment to quality and effective project management 

·       Ability to work 3-4 days/week on site in New Haven, CT (COVID situation permitting)

Nice to haves 

·       Experience leading developers in Agile development processes

·       Have hired and trained junior developers

·       Experience developing software to meet HIPAA & GDPR compliance standards

·       Familiarity with FDA regulations and processes around software development
