Role Summary

 

Impact Ventures is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a Marketing Intern position within its Marketing & Events Department. The candidate could be pursuing his/her undergraduate studies in Communications, Business, and Journalism, Marketing and Advertising or up to 2 years of general marketing experience. Candidate should also have a general interest or passion for entrepreneurship, technology, diversity, or p culture. A dual language-speaking candidate would be a plus.

 

This position will be responsible for coordinating and executing the company’s social media strategy, working across key social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. This role offers a total immersion into ap environment and will work closely with key members of staff, community influencers, external media agencies, and more. This role will be instrumental in increasing our brand presence and awareness amongst partners, stakeholders, and potential clients.

 

Reports Directly To: Marketing & Events Manager

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media Content Coordination & Community Management

a.     Assist with streamlining company social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flicker, and other social media platforms), ensuring uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities.

b.     Increase the number of followers we have on social media channels by following and engaging with potential clients and candidates and building channel specific ‘likes’ campaigns.

c.     Scheduling and coordinating a weekly brainstorming meeting with Impact Ventures team to establish content ideas for the month ahead, and to plan for a monthly social media, editorial, marketing and blogging calendar.

d.     Maintain a monthly social media and blogging calendar and ensure that everyone is meeting their deadlines.

e.     Help coordinate a guest blogger program, one guest blogger per month. Help to amplify this content through other social media channels.

f.      Help to create one piece of video content per month and post on social platforms.

 

 

Understanding and monitoring social media analytics

a.     Track key social media analytics on a monthly basis.

b.     Work with the directors to build monthly reporting tools on social media analytics and performance against our ‘baseline targetsl’.

c.     Present weekly PowerPoint updates regarding social media activity to supervisor

 

 

Event Logistics

 

a.     Assist on-site at fast-paced, high-profile flagship events. 

b.     Assist the department with complicated logistics for meetings and events, including securing location, room set-up, audio/visual needs, food and beverage, etc.

c.     Take on a variety of administrative projects and day-to-day tasks including mailings, assembly projects, and fill-in, as needed.

d.     Check Constant Contact, events email and phone line for event RSVPs and updates tracking sheet. 

e.     Manage attendee lists for events and create, print, and prepare name tags for events.  

f.      Send out weekly RSVP reports leading up to all events produced by Events Team. 

g.     Maintain and update the Events Calendar. 

h.     Design filing system for easy archival and retrieval purposes; maintain file for events and provide historical information in preparation for regular meetings; manage confidential and routine files.  

 

Qualifications

·       General interest in entrepreneurship, technology, diversity, and culture.

·       Proven written communication skills, and a passion for writing both short- and long-copy.

·       Excellent verbal communications skills.

·       An interest in marketing, communications, social media or reputation management;

·       Familiarity with key social media tools (e.g. Twitter and Facebook) and with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel);

·       An ability to consistently demonstrate our values of insight, hard work, and effectiveness in your personal approach to work;

·       An entrepreneurial attitude;

·       Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn;

·       An ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with quick turnaround times and minimal fuss; and

·       The ability to work collaboratively with a team.
