Impact Ventures (IV) is a business accelerator and impact investing fund with a mission to build economic opportunities for under-estimated Women and BIPOC Communities through education, capital, and community. We provide mentorship, training, and education through our flagship accelerator programs. As a 501c3 charitable loan fund, we invest integrated capital (debt, equity, and grants) in women and BIPOC-led businesses that create economic power and build community wealth. 


We are seeking a full-time Sr. Business Associate to join our Programs team in delivering high-quality business accelerator programs. We are seeking someone who shares our beliefs that: 

      • There is no justice without Economic Justice  
      • Current capital markets aren’t working 
      • Investment decisions should not be strictly financial  
      • We have much to learn from emerging models of impact investing, solidarity economics, and justice movements

As Sr. Business Associate, you are responsible for supporting our growing founder alumni network with technical assistance and business development, cultivating and supporting our robust mentor network, and recruiting high-opportunity businesses and start-ups to participate in our accelerator programs. In addition to building strong networks and supporting amazing founders, you will be responsible for leading event planning and community engagement opportunities.


This role reports directly to the Director of Programs. 


Core Roles and Responsibilities: 


Mentor Recruitment and Engagement 

      • Identify, recruit, and cultivate diverse, best-in-class mentors within our partner network. 
      • Manage onboarding and orientation processes related to mentor partners  
      • Identify opportunities to increase mentor engagement through skills-based volunteerism  
      • Act as a liaison connecting entrepreneurs and mentors to ensure timely and accurate connections to appropriate information and resources 

 

Alumni Network Management  

      • Implement and manage engagement programs for Impact Ventures accelerator alumni and portfolio companies  
      • Identify, communicate, and connect alumni to ongoing internal and external resources  
      • Support data collection and outcomes tracking related to accelerator alumni
      • Host networking and community engagement events to connect alumni members with each other and other ecosystem partners.


Accelerator Program Support 

      • Conduct outreach to recruit entrepreneurs for Impact Ventures accelerator programs  
      • Support entrepreneur evaluation, selection, and onboarding processes  
      • Connect entrepreneurs to appropriate resources, including Impact Ventures accelerator and partner programs during program
      • Provide logistical support for virtual and in-person accelerator sessions  

 

Community Engagement and Event Planning 

      • Identify, cultivate, and maintain productive relationships with Impact Ventures community partner network 
      • Own and manage a calendar of community partner events, recruiting, and networking opportunities 
      • Event planning lead (project manager) for all Program related events, including mentor appreciation, graduation, and in-person wrap-up sessions
      • Become an active and go-to member of the DFW startup ecosystem by providing valuable resources to community members at large
         

Preferred Qualifications: 

      • Bachelor’s degrees preferred but not required 
      • Minimum five years of experience as a Program Manager or similar role 
      • Proven project management skills, with a demonstrated record of proactively managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and bringing them to successful completion. 
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information in relatable and accessible ways  
      • Strong teamwork skills, an enthusiasm for collaboration, and a desire to learn from colleagues 
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including availability to attend programs and events outside of standard business hours as needed 
      • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 
      • Entrepreneurial experience is a plus 
      • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including multitasking and time management 


Preference for candidates that also have one or more of:

  • Experience working in impact investment industry
  • Fluency in another language beyond English
  • Lived experience in our target investment communities, such as communities of color, New American, veteran, and other overlooked and underestimated communities


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This role has an annual salary range of $60,000 - 80,000 and includes company standard benefits:
